Hi Ladies,

I have just started checking out this board and I have been surprised to see that there are so many other women out there that are just like me! I am married and have one child. I was actually looking out for a woman to date when I met my to-be-husband. I had no intention of having any type of serious relationship with him and, looking back, am not sure why I was dating him...I already knew that I preferred being with a woman even though I had never had the opportunity to have a formal relationship in that way. Anyway, I was clumsy and got pregnant We (he?) made the decision to be a couple and raise our child together. Three years later, we got married. There was no deep romance involved...I think we did it more for convenience. Now...I am really feeling out of place and every day I think about how it would be if I could be free of this commitment and find that girlfriend that I have always wanted. My husband knows that I am (was?) bisexual, but he has no clue just how much I have lost my attraction to men. At this point, I really believe that I am absolutely gay. I have no idea what to do. So...it is nice to be able to come here and know that I am not alone.

Thanks!!

When I was a kid we used to use bamboo poles. Ever do that? Sometimes we would bait our hooks with bologna and peanut butter! We even caught fish!!! Then the rod and reels came, first with the bobbers, then without. I am not sure in the house who the masterbaiter ;) lol, but there have been good times on the lakes with first my siblings and then with my own kids.

I'm going to have to get you ladies to come to Virginia to see some of the battle fields in our state. Are you familiar with the battle of Chicamaugua? You know here in VA there are still some people from the South that are still angry about the Civil War? It's really interesting listening to them talk, They make it seem like it just happened yesterday. Talk about holding a grudge! lol So I know Laurie is from the North, where are you from? I'm a Yankee myself! Right Laurie? lol

Sure I used bamboo. Mostly when we went to the ponds though we went to catch frogs. My fishing was mostly out on the party boats with all the men my daddy's age, we would go after Flounder or in the summer Fluke, out in Long Island sound.

Caly,
What did you catch that was so big? A flounder? Or something else?

I have fought the Battle of Chicamauga here in VA and in England!!!
A number of years ago, my dh's family rented an RV and we toured the VA battlefields. It was awesome, but I couldn't sleep in the RV. I got a tent and camped outside! lol

My brother married a southern girl from SC and they call it "The War of Norhern Aggression." What a hoot. They need to give it up and move on :)

Any time you want to set up the tour, I'm in the car riding down 95.

I was born in VA at Fort Belvoir Army Hospital. When they ask my place of birth, I list the military installation rather than the city. My father was discharged and we moved back to Detroit when I was a baby. I lived there for 10 years and then 2 or three years in Illinois and Ohio. I have lived in Camp Hill, Pa(ugh) and now I live outside of Philly.

It was a fluke, which is the summer version of the flounder. (its eyes are on the other side.

I always love it when a 12yo girl shows up the men. Fixes their egos up right! You go girl. Good times, good memories......

I just loved fishing with my uncle in Detroit. Then we would sometimes summer in Canada with relatives there and fish in the quiet areas of the St. Lawrence. Not near as exciting as being out in the big boats, but still special in its own way.

Gotta do a game. Back later

When I was in the Army, we studied the battle of Chicamaugua. We came to a lone grave site surrounded by wrought iron. His name was private Ingram which is my maiden name. My family origin is around the border there. They said that during the battle when he was killed, the towns people who loved him dearly, had his funeral service while the battle was progressing. Some day I would like to go back there and research the family tree in that area. We will have to all meet and visit these places. Be careful on 95. We will be back the last week in June to VA.
