I hate to be greedy and put out two posts within moments of each other,However I was reading some of the other posts and as much as I hate to sound like an idiot I have a few qustions I hope someone will answer for me. I want to preface this by saying again that I was brought up in a repressed enviroment. Will someone explain to me the different terms that I read on this board. What is a soft butch? what is a lipstick lesbian? I know I should know these things but let me also say I live in the bible belt. Nuff said.

Hey Jody,

Take a look at the site Caly posted, and you will get lots of info there. I personally identify as a femme, not really a lipstick lesbian, but not butch either. Confusing, eh?? lol

It's hard for me

Caly! I found this in the website you sent in the last post. Is this kismet or what?

blue
--a reference to the notion that all homophobia would end if everyone who was gay or bisexual would turn blue (or wear a blue dot on their forehead) for just one day. This idea is duscussed in the short story "Am I Blue?" by Bruce Coville, where it is referred to as the Third Great Gay Fantasy (Am I Blue? Coming Out from the Silence, ed. Marion Dane Bauer, HarperTrophy, a short story collection for LGB youth), and in Bingo by Rita Mae Brown. Musician Tori Amos also used this reference in the song "Hey Jupiter" on Boys for Pele when she asked, "So are you gay? Are you blue?" (Tori Amos, while straight, is a great friend to the gay community and has been since she started playing in gay bars at the age of 12.)

Who woulda thought.

Hugs

Bold Blue

Thanks for the link to geocities. I see what you mean about all of the terms. I got some of it and some I will just leave alone.lol. I don't like labels but I wanted a bit of understanding so that when I read other posts I will know what they are talking about. I felt like I was trying to study for an exam reading all of the terms. Whew.

EXAMS?!?!?

Who's giving the exam? Is it a written or oral exam? ;)
Will there be essays? What do I have to do to pass? Like I haven't been passing already! lol
Laurie, you are too funny. You make me laugh every time I need and pick me up, when my head is hangin' low.

Hugs

It is a written exam. Essay and true and false Q's.
A bonus Q is added for your free toolbelt or lipstick.
You should do fine. Which will you choose, the toolbelt or the lipstick?
Hugs,
Laurie
