How was the GLBT union caucus?

Did you bow or curtsey or clap?

Did they give you your copy of the Official Lesbian Handbook and promise you a toaster if you recruited others??

Allll right.... seriously, how was your day? Enquiring minds, and all that. LOL!!!

Hope it felt fabulous! ~ Nony

Blue,

Although I had lesbian relationships in my late teens and early 20's I left my husband for Shelley when I was 28 years old. I remember that excited feeling. Just wanting to shout to the world, but being nervous at the same time. You are entering an exciting time in your life, and I am very excited for you. In terms of fall out, each situation is differant. I went through a year of hell getting divorced, he was angry and made my life a misery. But, I have no regrets at all. Having gone from living a life where I felt like a fraud every single day to living my life openly and honestly has made all the differance in the world. I hope the future holds only wonderful things for you in this journey!

I agree about not getting the nod! I feel like I am so missing out! And I'm trying to let my hair grow longer, so I definitely won't get it now. ~sigh

(((((Blue))))))

Sounds like while it was a bit awkward with so few people there, you had a good experience, and I'm SO happy for you! I don't think you need to take baby steps anymore...maybe you can ramp it up to toddler steps! ;-)

I really think you won't be alone for long, chick. With your increasing confidence levels and ability to be YOU and share that, you're gonna get snatched up quickly.

The more you talk about your mom and DH and the more I think about our previous discussion about it, IMO you can tell your mom first. I'd tell DH second, though. Your mom will be an ally, sounding board, and soft place to land if DH doesn't take it as well as you hope. I've had friends in the past who have the kind of relationship with their mothers where they tell them things that they would never tell their DHs.

I am so happy for you! Keep us posted on how this goes. You've inspired me to attend one of our GLBT committee meetings in the future.

Hugs

Hey Leaf,

Regarding the nod, I've seen it before, and it's the kind of thing where you feel it so strongly that

Definitely mom first. She’s been in your life longer than dh. So she gets extra credits. You got a kind heart for giving the toaster to a homeless man but really, where’s he going to plug that toaster??? He is homeless after all. Now he got another heavy thing to carry around the city/town with all his other stuff. :-pppp

Yeah, she seems to have forgotten to do that, didn’t she? Hmm.
You think she put the cart before the horse too, like she did with giving a toaster to a homeless man? *grin*

OK, well I just realized that I should have said that lesbians smile and say hi too, but with the nod added. Sometimes, though, it's just the nod.

I'll shut up now! :p
