How about sharing a Beach or Camping tip with us?

Take lots of changes of clothes to both places!
I read yesterday that sprinkling baby powder on your feet after walking on the beach makes the sand slide right off.
Back when I was married, my husband and I visited the beach quite often. Those were the good old days. I really enjoyed Tybee Island. I've not been there in years so I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending it. But, back when my husband and I vacationed there, it was not extremely commercialized. The cool part about it was that the tide would cover the road leading into the island. So, sometime during the night, the road would be closed. It seemed cool anyway. But I was young back then. Now that I'm older with all my hangups I would probably freak out, have a panic attack because I knew I couldn't leave the island, start swimming for the mainland and alligators eat me.
Camping is not my thing. I like modern day amenities. Now to me what is preferred would be a mountain cabin with electricity and nearby hiking trails. I'm not a true outdoors woman.
Supposedly Tybee Island has become a very nice place to vacation. I've only been there a few times, just for day trips. That was years and years ago, before I had my 10 yo. I wasn't that impressed with it then, but I think it's pretty popular now. Ben Affleck has (or used to have) a house there.
We've been enjoying camping, but it is a lot of work, especially for just a couple of days.

I love to camp, but I'll admit to being a sissy... I want hot/cold running water, showers, potties, the whole bit.
I am going to the beach with a group of women friends this weekend that have raised our children together since they were in kindergarten and we do this at least once a year! I have decided not to come out this year. lol
Tip 1 Bring enough vodka, cranberry, and orange juice to last the weekend.
Tip 2 Bring money for the outlets
Tip 3 Bring a bathing suit just in case you get to the beach, although we almost always
get there at some point.
Tip 4 Bring your music
Tip 5 Bring enough vodka, cranberry, and orange juice to last the weekend, if by chance
I slip out of the closet.
LOL

Camping will be done on a later post.
I don't go camping much, but my tip is use TONS of sunscreen and drink lots of water!
Since I don't EVER camp and am not near a beach very often, I'll have to share what seems logical to me....don't take more sea shells from a beach than you really have a need for!

<I used to go camping all the time when I was in Girl Scouts. With out a doubt bring an air mattress so u don't have to sleep on the hard ground. Also if u have kids or even 4 ur selves bring games and things to read. Hope u have fun!

If you are tent camping do not put your tent on the lowest point of the camping area -- especially if rain is predicted!
I have not gone camping in years. I used to take my DD and DS, and one friend each, for a weekend camping expedition every summer. We had some interesting times!
