I have a couple of questions for all the exercisers/fitness gurus on the board. I have been working out with weights a few times a week. Normally I use 5 pd. dumbbells for my arms. As you know, Blue, I carry my weight in my upper body.

Mmmmm... Blizzard...Bliiiiizard!! BliiiiZard.

Boy, i know what you mean. WHen we visit GA we allow ourselves to stop and I get one of those soft serve cones with the chocolate hard cover shell.... HAPPINESS....HAPPINESS.

Of course it sets me off the entire visit at MILs...LOL!!!!! But i rationalize that if i get to visit MIL, i can get one of those cones! LOL!!!

Dreeeeaming now about one of those cones. It must be hard with two little ones. i have no will power. If i had it at home, I'd eat it. I think Blue has the will power. What saves me is controlling my environment!

Hugs to you and Coley

Here is a tip that will save you money when you go out to eat......Share a meal with your partner. The food servings are way more than one individual needs! Cuts a meal cost in half! Let the children eat the rice with their own plates. For the longest time my children liked the french fries, pizza and chips. Hard to resist for sure! Then I started cooking meals around my diet and threw in a few of their favorites every now and then. I took them grocery shopping with me and taught them how to pick fresh fruits and veggies. Now, they never eat anything out of cans and processed foods are at a minimum. This might help you with the children. Of course I'm betting that you and Ting do this already! lol

Caly and everybody, Hey!

I have been off and this discussion has just moved on without me, as well it should. I was not a very good girl yesterday and today I am paying, BIG TIME. Work just sucked and then I thought it might be a good idea to party a little. A little partying turned into more and I contritely face you not feeling up to par. I rarely do this, having learned something in my youth, but apparently the memory must have been tucked away. However, I am recalling ALL of my past indiscretions this morning.

Mich-I get the machine question often. Going to a gym with kids is really hard. We bought a NordiTrak, but here's the catch, they all work!! Yep, it doesn't really matter what you buy, BUT it should be suited to you. A rower and the stairmaster hurts my hips and a treadmill is just awful on my knees. I pretty much physically abused my body when I was young. I don't regret one minute of it, but it has taken it's toll. Whatever you choose, it really only works if you get on it! lol Hanging your clothes from the handles does not constitute "using" the machine!!!

I'm not so sure about the will power thing, especially since yesterday. It IS very hard. So much processed stuff out there and then just when you think you are doing the right thing, BAM, the govt. sets new guidelines or scientists really weren't sure about their findings. Examples: butter vs. margarine, eggs.

I am a believer in "everything in moderation." Well, almost everything... ;)

Hugs to all
