Blue, Roxy, other exercisers??

I have a couple of questions for all the exercisers/fitness gurus on the board. I have been working out with weights a few times a week. Normally I use 5 pd. dumbbells for my arms. As you know, Blue, I carry my weight in my upper body.

One thing I have been able to do is resist the Breyer's ice cream my kids eat at home. I LOVE it but keep myself in check.

I eat Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches if I want ice cream at home.

Thanks for all the advice!

Did ya just notice that?! Caly came up with tings-tang to go with Ting. We're all about the yin and yang of our relationship, so this really fits.

A side note about how I got the Ting moniker. When I first started posting on the board, my screenname was tn_girl because I'm from Tennessee. After a while one of our posters shortened it to Ting. I liked it and it stuck!

Love ya too!

Great ideas, Halo! Thanks! One thing I've started doing at restaurants is ordering substitutions when I don't want fries. A lot of times I'll get broccoli instead.

((((((Blue))))))

I hope you are feeling better. Congrats getting through another year!

The government findings/conclusions are frustrating. My cholesterol is borderline high (although my "good" cholesterol is low). I want to eat eggs for protein, but I don't know. They may not be good for my cholesterol. Coffee was bad, now it's good. ~sigh Sometimes you just gotta do what you want and hope for the best.

I know that genes play a big part too. My dad is an avid runner (has been for about 30 years). He has always taken good care of himself. When he turned 60 the problems started. He has high cholesterol, borderline high blood pressure, and is pre-diabetic. Those are all in his family history. Who knows...

This web site is the closest thing I could find that comes close to my work out plan and diet plan.

www.theabsdiet.com, Women in the middle ages gain belly fat. This is a great web site and it does work!

I also have a big blue exercise ball that is great for working the abs! You can pick up a video and ball at www.hinklerbooks.com, it has a great in home workout perfect for the both of you and not expensive! Search for Simply Ball & Web by Julia Filep. It comes with a super web and band that also works out the arms and legs. It attaches to the ball and is easy to use with the instruction video that comes with it! Best of luck!

ps. leaving for VA sat and won't be posting for several weeks! See ya all!

Hey, Roxy, thanks. I am doing much better now. 18 holes with nice people really picked me up. I even played pretty well for not playing since last year at this time. Did I mention that my dh sooooo wants me to play and I sooo hate this game.

I use the ball for my core work, halo. I was very skeptical at first, but it really DOES work.

Thanks for feeling for me, TiNG. It was truly my own fault and when I do these kinds of things, I try and tell myself how childish it seems, but what is age anyhow?? I don't consume alcohol on anywhere near a huge amount, in fact, I just don't drink at all until a special occaision or a party. So, I paid today. I'm much better now. 18 holes of golf, gatorade, burgers and macaroni salad, and I am a new woman.

Gonna go workout!!! lol

I am a believer in "everything in moderation." Well, almost everything... ;)

Trust me from experience..... even that in moderation *weg,
