I have a couple of questions for all the exercisers/fitness gurus on the board. I have been working out with weights a few times a week. Normally I use 5 pd. dumbbells for my arms. As you know, Blue, I carry my weight in my upper body.

Well TiNG and I are trying to keep motivated ourselves so I would certainly be interested in a thread like that.

I'd jump in on this bandwagon...I don't have much technical knowledge, (but that's why we have Blue to lead us!).

I'd say I need to lose about 30 pounds. My goal isn't so much weight-related, though, as it is a goal to feel better, not so lethargic.

Ok...Blue? Looks like it's all up to you...

All right, guys, you've talked me into it. Let me get past this gig and think about what a little survey might look like to see where we want to go with this.

I will tell you this, my workouts are a lot like my music, very personal. The reason I don't tell a lot of people is that a good number would think that I am over the edge, a lot like my music. lol I know that I am not.

However, there is a lot of basic workout stuff and nutrition guidelines that, if followed, can lead to better health. If that means losing weight for you, toning up, working on your blood work, I know I can draw on data that I know, research I can lay my hands on, and help from all those here who work out on a regular basis. Remember, being healthy in the United States is not for the faint of heart!!! We eat way too much, way too much bad stuff, and lead a very sedentary lifestyle. With a few minor changes, that may seem like major ones to you, we can ALL start on or stay on the road to good health.

There, how's that??? lol

Bringin' my sista's with me!!!

Hugs to all

Blue

Sounds good, Blue! Thanks for agreeing to do this. I've been rattling around in my head the idea of housing this on our iConnect Group. There is a forum section that we could devote to this, and we could advertise it here. Let me know what you think. We can certainly do it here, but it might be nice to have a dedicated space.

We have been exercising religiously for the past two to three weeks, and it is killing me! I'm seeing good results, but I have to say that exercise is really

TiNG,
I am so proud of you guys. While I love exercising now, I certainly didn't always. Also, some days are just very sucky (is that a word? lol). It does get better and when I could start listening to my music and exercise by the number of songs that I wanted, it really got a whole lot better.

It's gonna be all right.

LOLOL Sounds good to me! OMG! We LOVE Mellow Mushroom. I've never had their white pizza, though.

This makes me feel somewhat better when I'm exercising: There's a particular woman who's usually at the gym when we are. I realized yesterday that she is pregnant. Every time she enters the cardio area, she changes one of the tv channels to the Discovery Health Network. Usually a program about water births is on, and we get to watch women giving birth to babies in hot tubs while we work out. How nice, huh? But, it makes me realize that I'd much rather be running than having a baby!

I know, it's all good and worth it. I think I need a day or two of rest. Thanks for the encouragement.
