Mom's P.E.T. scan came out clean. No cancer! We celabrated with dinner on the lake. Mom, Fred, Sheila and I.
Sheila's dad keeps getting worse by the day. He is losing his short term memory and is in end stage everything, i.e. congestive heart failure, kidney failure, cardio vascular disease, etc.
We have been called up a few times as they thought he was going to die. Then, he just pulls through. We are not sure if it is a blessing or not since each time he pulls through he has more worng with him.
Sheila and I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and posts to us. It really is comforting to know there are people out there who are thinking of us at this time.
My blood sugar has been horrendous. I feel like crap. It was 350 this morning on a fasting level. We are going to start walking again at the park then it is back to the gym for me. I miss doing the weights etc., at the gym.
I need to walk and work out to keep my blood sugar down. It is supposed to be around 90.
I think all the stress and poor eating times have thrown it off alot.
I refuse to go on insuline and whant to keep it controlled by diet, fitness and in pill form meds. But the last few weeks have been so hectic with taking care of mom and going up 3 hours to see sheila's mom and dad and the back and fourth and taking care of the dogs etc has been exhausting for us both.
My mom is still healing from her last surgery as it was a very invasive procedure. Fred, (my step-dad) and I are her primary care takers.
Sheila was up at her mom's for a week and her sis from Cinci, Ohio and I drove back and fourth while Fred looked in on our dogs and I kenneled Mike.
In between I was taking mom to alot of her doctor appointments. Follow ups, tests, chemo followup and infections from her last surgery.
My stomach and sheila's have been in knots.
Sorry for such a long post, just felt good writing about it and getting it out. Spared you all the details, lol.
Thank you everyone,
Hugs,
Laurie

Laurie,
I am so sorry that all of this is going on for you and Sheila. We will keep you both in our prayers. It is not an easy situation to be in. I am so glad to hear that your Mom is on the mend. Please tell Sheila that we are praying for her and her Dad and for all of your families.. Hang in there, we are all behind you...

This is all bittersweet, isn't it? I'm glad your mom got positive results but so sorry that Sheila's dad continues to suffer.
Take care of yourself, okay?
Big hugs

Laurie

I do miss the gym. It was a good stress buster. I felt better too. I am sure the stress is what is keeping my blood sugar up.
Thank you again for praying for Sheila's family.
Hugs,
Laurie

Sheila's mom just called, they want to send him to a nursing home now. There is just nothing more they can do.
They are going to take him off of all of his IV's this weekend.
Worried,
Hugs, Laurie
