I've made a brief mention that we have alot of stress in our lives right now. We are suing and also being sued by a contractor we hired 2 years ago to do some remodeling of our home. He did a large amount of damage to our home, so we are suing him. He is counter suing us for an obscene amount of money ($100,000) no, I did not miscount my zeros! He is smoking crack rock for sure! Anyway, tommorow is our mediation. I am just asking for all prayers, good thought, and positive karma. This has taken such a toll on us mentally, physically, financially and it's taken it's toll on our relationship. So, maybe with a little luck tommorow this will all get settled and for the first time in 2 years we might actually get our lives back! Just typing that makes me cry because I want that so bad but I can't let my hopes get too high.

So, please hold us in your thoughts tommorow!

(((irish)))....I hope you get back your positive outlook with time. I believe in the good in people too. I think what you think about grows. It would be a shame if this man took *that* away from you. A house is a house. Money is just money. But your spirit and heart,...well that is another matter.

I hope you heal from this soon. I pray ot does not mark your spirit.

Hugs

I'm so sorry you and Shelley have had to deal with this jerk. I know you want to keep fighting (and I would too), but it does sound like settling is the best option. That's the frustrating thing about getting justice - you may win but you lose so much $ in the process that it doesn't seem worth the fight.

Hope you can put this behind you and move on. Big hugs coming your way...

Thanks Roxy!

You are right, it is just a house. And $$ is just paper. In the grand scheme of our lives $5,000 is not alot of money. I do feel like this has changed me, but it's still so fresh that it's hard for me to be really logical about all this right now. \

I am a firm believer in karma. I really believe that if you do good things with your life and put good out into the world that good things will come back to you. I believe the same thing for people who do bad things and put out negativity into the world. I know someday karma will find him. And I do think that good things are ahead of us.

Oh for sure irish. I think Karma is kind of impersonal..i think if it as spiritual physics...what goes out, comes back. So when I get crap from someone i try really hard not to resend crap back but to send compassion, forgiveness, acceptance..or at the very least neutral energy. Hard to do but i keep trying it.

Tonglen mediation is good too...tibetan budhism. Love to read works by Pema Chodrom. Her works are amazing for westerners ...to them grasp the eastern practice and view of things. um i wonder if she is a FGP? lol

I hope you feel better very soon.

After being a jerk all morning he signed the agreement and faxed it to our lawyer. He kept saying he wouldn't sign it without us allowing him and his lawyer to come look through our home, garage and backyard because he says we still have some of his tools! We don't have anything that belongs to him........he's such garbage. We flat out refused and it seems he has dropped that idea. We have nothing to hide, but we do not want him in our home! We have to go tommorow and sign the agreement and give them the $$$$

This is still so wrong and we are both just furious! But, I guess it's time to let it go and move forward. This has already taken such a toll on us, it's time for us to take our lives back.

Oh Irish,
I am so sorry that he has been able to do this to you both. I wonder if this is how he does business.
To bad you couldn't go on the news and just screw him over.
People like that make me so mad. I am glad that you have settled but not happy about the turn out for you.
Good for you for refusing to let him go to your home to look for his tools.
What a jerk and I am being nice because of TOS.

Hang in there! It's almost over. Is there a way you can report him to the Better Business Bureau or maybe a national contractor's association?

Hope you can do some celebrating tonight.

Hugs
