I think the best one that remains as a positive for me is when I discovered broccoli, oddly enough, in 5th grade. We had a pretty good cafeteria and my Dad was picky about things he would "allow" at the supper table, so one day I chose the brocolli on my own at lunch becuase a classmate recommended I give it a try. I've loved it ever since!
The worst... in 3rd grade a boy that was ill (and in today's standards would have been sent home long before lunch), blew milk out his nose and then proceded to hurl his entire lunch of mashed potatoes, fried chicken, and peas right next to my shoulder. I cannot believe I still love peas and potatoes to this day. :O)
Cat, I remember those little bottles and they had sort of paper/cardboard caps on them. We would come up in our classroom and get a bottle with a straw and eat at our desks. That was when I was in Catholic school(2 years). I had forgotten those! What a cool memeory!

Lunch cost a quarter in my school in Illinois
Worst: They made me eat the beets before I could go to recess.
Best: Macaroni and cheese day with stewed tomatoes.
Ummmmmmmmmmmm!!

I never liked cafeteria lunches. I remember the square pieces of pizza with gross-tasting cheese and soybean burgers. Yuck!
I'm sure I would have loved whatever you served if you had been my lunch lady, though,
