Morning ALL!

I noticed lots of discussion in other threads about camo and tanks and tool belts LOL 3386a.jpg image by CalyD44

Anyway, I thought it might be fun to talk about dressing like a Lesbian.

Good moring, Caly.

For me myself, I like to wear (and depending on the weather)shorts, t-shirts, my work boots (they are very comfortable)and sometimes, my sneakers. Depending on my mood, I will wear my dress pants, shirt and tie, and sometimes I might just wear my wing tip shoes.

If I'm just going to my mailbox, I might just wear a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and a pair of socks and that's it. But even the most feminine woman can wear jeans, t-shirts and work boots, my gaydar might go off, that is if I'm "listening" to it ;-).

Great question!

Hugs,

Seb

Yep, clothes make the dyke! When I see a woman that is part of what sets my gaydar off, although alot of times the hair helps too. But, I am more attracted to butch women and notice them more than I would a feminine woman. I'm sure when other dykes see mee the hair is a big clue.......lol. At work I wear solid color scrubs and running shoes, the only thing setting me apart from the other women is that I don't like all the cutsie prints on my scrubs. And I don't wear makeup. When I'm not working I wear jeans, tshirts, long sleeve t shirts, sweatshirts and jeans with sneakers usually. If I'm going out to dinner........I have a black fitted button down shirt that I think is super sexy and makes me feel very dykey! But, regardless of what I wear in our circle I am percieved as "the feminine one", which irritates me to no end! But, Shelley is very butch, 90% of what she wears is men's clothing. I'm more the femme by default than anything else.

I love camo on women, wife beaters, sporty attire..........it's all very sexy on the right woman.

Hi Caly,
I am a femme. You would not know I was gay by looking at me. I wear girl clothes and make-up. I have my eyebrows waxed and I have manicures and pedicures.
I like womens clothes becuase of how I feel that they make me look and because we have more choices in styles.
The same with my shoes. Very girlie shoes.
I am attracted to femme to soft butch and butch women. Sheila is somewhere in the soft butch to femme catagory.
I am pretty good with my gaydar and it is not always the clothes that help me but the way she carries herself etc.
Sometimes it is just pure obvious.
I am sure I do miss on some of them though. There are just some women that have the "look".
That's all for me for now.
Hugs,
Laurie

Clothes do play a part in setting off my gaydar, but it's really the total "look" that does it for me. Yesterday I sat behind a lesbian couple in a restaurant. They were soft butch. To the average person, they would probably look straight. But, I know the difference. I can't even really explain it. They had on shorts and tops (one had on a t-shirt, one had on a sleeveless sweater), earrings, rings, flip flops...nothing out of the ordinary. The one who actually looked more "butch" had her toenails painted. It was their features and gestures that clued me in. I find the soft butch look more attractive than anything else. It's the slightly feminine with a masculine "edge" that does it for me (read, Caly!). I like the wife beater/cargo shorts/camo look, but can easily be swayed by just t-shirts and shorts too. Oh yeah, and baseball caps set off my gaydar too. One of our new friends wears them ALL the time. I've never seen what her hair really looks like. She even wears them to hang out in the pool.

For me, I look like a suburban soccer mom. Blah! If I wanted to I could make myself look pretty butch, but it's just not me. I like pretty clothes and shoes. I like to wear make up occasionally and always have my toenails painted in the summer. My clothes are important to me - they can make a difference in how I feel. They're more than a necessity. To some, that probably sounds shallow, but it's who I am. I assure you, though, there's definitely more to me than my clothes! lol

I am an ole Florida girl so my fave is shorts, a T-Shirt or tank top, and flip flops or sneakers. At work it's scrubs and sneakers, both solid colors and prints. I dress like a tomboy and I always have, if you saw me on the street I'm sure you would probably think I'm a dyke; I have short hair and a masculine build, well except for the big boobs LOL!. I do wear makeup though, and minimal jewelry, I wear a man's watch and I like it, plus it's easier to read the numbers *blush*. I like the way I dress. It's me.

I have to say if I see a gal in camo pants, boots and with a "boy's" haircut, my gaydar is at least turned to "on"; if she also has piercings and tattoos, then I'm usually dialed right in. If she's with another girl, then I'm afraid I usually assume they're a couple. I think it's the whole package, though, and not just clothes.

I don't think that sounds shallow at all....it's how you express yourself. I do think clothes can help determine how someone feels about themselves. Depsite the fact that I dress like a college student most of the time, I love an occasion to really get dressed up. I like an excuse to wear a dress, heels, makeup, jewlery......I feel very powerful that way for some reason. But, I also feel powerful and extremely sexy all dyked out(button down shirt unbuttoned low, dark wash boot cut jeans, hair slightly spiky)......and dare I say a little cocky! Which really is not my personality at all!

One of the greatest things that happened when I lost a bunch of weight three years ago is that I could wear hip clothes! lol I got some leather pants and a leather jacket and looked pretty darn good in them if I do say so myself!

I'm sure you looked great all decked out in your butch duds!

Good topic!! Even when i do wear my dike garb here and there for fun...LOL! I look femmy. I am definately a Les, but i dont think i can pull off being butchy. LOL!

I wear natural looking make-up and my fingernails are clear--i keep the short (they grow like crazy). I do paint my toe nails though..

Even in my doc martin boots, white WFs and boi pants...i come across ad femmy...so i use eye contact to let them know I am a Les. You all know what I am talking about right? That look with a hint of a smile...yeah. That one. he he
