softball game. So I went last night. My ds was feeling a bit better, so I allowed myself some fun. Oh the sweet sound of that first ball hitting a leather glove-just sent tingles down my spine. And the ping of the bats and all the calls "full count", "let's rally", "nice butt"-oh wait-that was in my head. Sorry.
Anyway, it was nice to sit anonymously and watch the ladies play. I remember the comradery so well and longed for those days. The crowd was small, so I'm sure there were some people wondering who I was. Maybe I'll keep going and make some friends-who knows.
The blue behind the plate was not nearly as sexy as our Blue. Middle-aged, pot-bellied guy. The field was right in the landing path of planes coming into San Jose International and very near-so landing gear was down and everything. I think I breathed into a bit too much fuel-maybe added to the excitement-who knows. I'll take whatever I can get.
I'm slowly making my way into the community-I hope. I don't want it to feel forced or contrived. I need some friends and hopefully that will happen soon.
Oh-and I bought Curve magazine yesterday and openly read it at the gym. Just thought I'd test my own comfort level. Fun magazine.
Hugs,
Amy

Good for you Amy!
That sounds like fun, it's been soooooooooooo long since I've been to a game. I love professional baseball for the fun, women's softball for the eye candy! When I was in high school I had a crush on the catcher and I would watch practice all the time, she was so cute!
Enjoy getting out more and testing the waters! San Jose? I keep forgetting you're just up the road from me.

The catcher? Well, I had a little thing with our catcher. She was so sweet and I kind of broke her heart. I should look her up and let her know I'm sorry and that she's coming back to haunt me all these later. She knew exactly who I was all those years ago, but I just didn't realize it yet!
Yeah-San Jose. It's good to be in a fairly large area, however, I'm stuck in suburbia and live that life. So now I have to start reaching out to the other areas and not feel stuck in my usual mode. I don't want to give all that up-but just figure out this part of my life. It's so weird really!
Go watch a softball game-so fun!
Hugs,
Amy
You know I don't even know what's in this area for softball. I'll have to check out my college, I wonder if they have a team?
What is it with the catcher? The one I had a crush on knew I existed, we danced together at prom after she told me I was beautiful.......she made my little 17 year old heart go wild! But, I never saw her again after graduation. I'm sure she has a wife and 2 dogs by now! LOL.........just like me!
Keep exploring and enjoy it!

Catchers? Maybe it's all the squatting. Sorry-couldn't resist.
Amy
Glad you had a great time, Amy! Good for you for putting yourself out there. You sound upbeat. Keep on keepin' on.

I played for the Navy too and always played on our all star team.
I love softball.

I love ball players. **wink**
I get to see a lot of them in my work. Sometimes it is a wee hard to focus. ;)

Was I supposed to watch the score? :-}. I guess I did-since I got to see all the action and no one knew who I was or what I was doing!
Hugs,
Amy (former 3rd basewoman and pull-hitter)
WHAT??? You scored? You devil, you. And without me along. I never get any of the fun stuff.....
