Inspiration for strength

With all these discussions about the strength to get through this journey, I thought I'd share some that I have on my cork board and in a notebook I read over and over to get me through:

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom" -Anais Nin

"I rip my heart open
I sew myself shut
My weakness is
that I care too much
My scars remind me
that my past is real
I rip my heart open
just to feel"
-Nietzsche

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyong measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same."

"The riskiest thing you do is best. Never want to live the life of an ordinary mortal, it doesn't pay dividends." -Marianne Williamson

"If the path has heart, follow it"

"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. If doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive. It doesn't interest me what planets are squatting your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow. If you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself, if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy. I want to know if you can see beauty, even when it's not pretty, everyday, and if you can source your own life from it's presence. It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. It doesn't matter me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else fails."

Well, I know there are more, and I can't take credit for any of them. But they sure have helped me along the way. Print them out and put somewhere you can read them. Even if you aren't ending a marriage, or coming out. They can help in any tough situation.

Hugs,

Amy

Those are really great, Amy! Thanks for sharing.

I get a lot of inspiration from song lyrics. When I have some time I'll have to post some of my favorites.
