I have negotiated with the powers that be, being of the halo bearing type and all... and it is my duty to inform you that I have secured the moving of the sun closer to the southern hemisphere for at least the next 6 months... sooooo make the most of it, coz it aint gonna last. Summer is coming to meeeeeeeeeeeee. Hehehe.

Enter another stranger.
Long time no see, miss seeing you here too.
Life in CA is good, I hope.
Out come another stranger in the form of the Professer or Rayeellen? *turning on the lights to the lighthouse* *L*
I think that among the descriptions kids give to other groups of kids, my son comes closest to "nerd" or maybe gamer nerds? He has the stature of a stick insect and I think if he went for fierce, no one would bother him. They would be laughing instead. He dyed his hair red as part of his costume for the Armageddon convention (of gamers etc).
The whole incident at school happened because he had an argument with the younger brother of one of the boys the day before, outside school hours. The brother was calling him names and being a dork, then he turned on my son's girlfriend. My son told him to stop it on several occasions and then threatened him.
No one has any idea what instigated the second attack. We have no idea who the boy involved is. He said nothing at the time, just gave him a good punch in the jaw and ran off. I assume he was probably related to someone involved in the first incident. I think we will be driving the boy to school for a while now.
you've just got to keep your halo bright and shiny. And I think timing may have had a lot to do with it?!
I've been looking forward to summer since... er... pretty much since it ended, actually. We have a nice sunny day today, it's just a shame about the cold southerly wind. Not much between us and the Antarctic to warm up the breeze. I didn't mind winter so much when I could afford to go skiing but now I work outdoors. Oh and my job means I have muscles, lol and I like to wear a t-shirt to show them off. Many of our clients are from same-sex families.... too much hassle to do the kid thing, so lets get a dog...
Hi Laurie!
I don't mean to stay away so long... never realise how long it's been. I think I am kind of lost in space and time at the moment. The years are going by so quickly it's scarey. Sometimes I sneak in and read, but don't have a lot to offer in the way of advice or anything.
((((hugs))))
Ven
who meee???
Do you mean to tell me you buy *soft* oranges?! I meant it in the *purest* way possible. Of course!
the work/study thing sounds like the way to go. Over here, you would have to get a student loan which you pay back when your income goes over a certain figure.
The building fire sounds very scarey! What happened? I am glad you are ok, though these things can haunt us for years to come.
I have 3 cats, two of them are getting on in years and one of those has been ill off and on for the last couple of years. He is a siamese and doesn't cope with the cold too well. Still got a few years in him yet though. They are all inside cats, though we walk the youngest one outside on a harness most days.
When it comes to buying a car, you need to think about what you will use it for, where you will drive it etc, fuel economy, safety- rather than getting something that just looks good. I mean, there is really no point in getting a 4WD if you never intend going off road. It's just something else to go wrong with the thing and something you pay for, whether you use it or not. My car is one of those MPV things called a Joy. What kind of self-respecting lesbian drives a car called Joy?!?! I intend replacing it with something more practical and fuel efficient as soon as I can afford to! I want a Mazda 3...
How is the doggie biz?
Hugs,
Laurie

The little pug in the picture is our boy Ted. I adopted him from the kennels. His owner had an old pug called Ted and when old Ted died, they wanted a new Ted. It turns out new Ted was a lot more energetic and very naughty compared to Old Ted. They also had an old boxer, Sam. Sam had been having operations and Ted pestered her too much, so they couldn't trust him at home alone with her. They had been leaving him at the kennels from Monday to Friday and taking him home most weekends. My boss asked if he would consider rehoming him but the guy said he had waited 2 years to get the dog and couldn't bear to part with him. Turns out the guy's partner didnt like the new Ted at all so a week later he said he wanted to do what was best for the dog.
We have had Ted for about a year now. We like his naughty personality. He is only 2 years old, keeping the weight off him is a bit of a challenge but we see so many fat pugs through work that we know it's worth it. We have to walk him to go to the toilet because he will chase cars if we leave him in the yard.
The doggie biz is great. The pay isn't wonderful but I earn enough to live off and i really enjoy what I do so it's all good. We get a lot of clients who come in over and over again- its kind of like being a kindy teacher. I know who is naughty and who is nice, who likes to play and who would rather be left alone. My workmates are constantly amazed that they can show me a row of black labradors and I can tell them which one is which. Ask me to match them to their owners though and I am pretty screwed....
How old are your pugs? German shepherd?
Here are some ted pics if you want to see them:
