I had to go purchase my book for anatomy this morning, the class starts on Tuesday. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! I have never had a class that required so many books.........1 textbook, 4 manuals and 4 educational CD's. I've never spent this much money on 1 class, that's for sure. I am officially scared...........lol

Here I was thinking I'll read a chapter, look over the labs and get a head start. I have no clue where to start?!

Hi Shannon,
Welcome to the spend-your-money-on-textbooks world. I totally understand how you feel about spending your money on textbooks and stuffs. I do it every semester and it still surprises me some time. Well I don't know how much yours is but for me, a book can cost about $150 so what I do is I search for used or international editions online. You save a lot that way. The international edition doesn't have colors and it's paperback though. But hey it's lighter to carry around.
Anyway, good luck with your class.

Thanks, good luck this semester to you too. I should be used to this by now, I've been doing pre reqs for the respiratory therapy program for 2 years now. But, this is my most expensive semester so far. In January if I start the program my books will come to about $800 for the 1st semester from what I've heard........ouch.

You know where to start-by emptying your wallet! You'll need a whole new desk just for the materials for that class!

I know how you feel, Shannon. I can't wait to find out how much my books will cost. I'm just taking Basic math this semester and I waiting to see how much money it's going to eat out of my budget.

It shouldn't be too bad though, it's just one class that I have. But, then I haven't bought a college t-shirt or anything. Of course, the college t-shirt or anything else that "promotes" the college itself, isn't required. But, I guess showing school spirit is a good thing.

I feel your pain. I am an Electronics Engineer by trade. When I first saw everything I had to buy, I though, what have I done. Very scary.

The best advice I was given was do not get a head start. Just wait.

Oh yeah...this brings back memories (medical lab technologist--was my first adult profession). Try not to feel overwhelmed. Use index cards to memorize terms...right off the bat! You can do this!!!
