I had to go purchase my book for anatomy this morning, the class starts on Tuesday. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! I have never had a class that required so many books.........1 textbook, 4 manuals and 4 educational CD's. I've never spent this much money on 1 class, that's for sure. I am officially scared...........lol

I'm a community college administrator and book prices are an ongoing problem. My advice is to buy your books at any place other than your campus book store. They mark up a lot. For example, I needed a calculator for my daughter who started high school. Even with my 10% discount, the calculator would have cost $30 more than what I was able to find online.

You can find affordable books through ebay, paperback swap and other places. It pays to shop around.

Good luck with your classes.

Thanks for the advice! I have had alot of luck in past semesters getting books online and have gotten some great deals! This semester I could not find the ISBN the school provided me anywhere online. Once I went to buy the book I found out why. They had bundled everything together and that ISBN was seperate from the ISBN on the textbook.

I go back to school tommorow! God I'm such a dork. I love school, always have. I can't help it, I'm the daughter of a teacher.

More importantly, I get to turn in my application to the respiratory therapy program on October 12! Woooo hooooo

My knee has been slipping out of place a couple times a day for the last several days. The ortho said that will be a common occurance until my quads get strong enough to hold the knee in place. But, it hurts like heck and causes alot of swelling. I emailed the instructor over the weekend to see what her expectations are. It's a total of 3 hours a week split between 2 days. Her expectation is that I will be walking a minimum of 1 hour per class session. I cannot do that much at this time. I'm doing 30 minute walks on my own and I'm coming home limping each day.

So, I withdrew from that class and signed up for an 8 week session of the same class that starts mid October. That way I can continue to rehab on my own until I can handle longer walks.

In it's place I'm taking an online computer class that I need for my major.

Still proud?
