Today was better than yesterday, if you can believe that.
We had our "district level" meeting today where all the middle school teachers get the welcome back speech from the superintendent, director of middle school ed, and the union prez. We meet our new teachers and we recognize those with milestones in service. Today I was recognized for 30 years! I wasn't sure with my maternity leaves if I was there or not. All my peeps really cheered loud and I had the loudest cheers of all the teachers recognized. I got a silver pen, too. But I gotta tell you that nothing made me feel good like those people.
THEN, I'm standing in the hall talking with another PE teacher comparing tats. I kinda thought this woman was a lesbian. Up walks one of the high school teachers who is kind of an out lesbian and starts talking to this other woman about a club in Philly, Sisters. I have mentioned it before. I say that I was there earlier in the month and in July. We talk about karoke night and I say that I would like to go again. The other on says that she went to a club in San Diego last week. I can't remember the name of it. There's no surprise from these women, like "Sue, YOU'RE GAY??!!" They must have either gotten the word or felt really comfortable with me or perhaps their gaydar has been working well for years. So the one says to email her with my phone number and we can get together and go. She has a long time partner, but it was just fun to be standing with these two women talking about things that are about us with all these straight people around us mingling and chatting on their own. I can't imagine what they thought after I left. I also mentioned that I was getting a divorce.
Finally, I ran into the two women that my president outed me to at the summer leadership conference and had a chance to chat with them. I asked them to keep my confidence as this was my story and both said that they had my back. Let's hope. Can't do anything about it if they don't. I also said that Marianne had no business outing me when she had never actually heard it from my mouth.
How can it get any better???? Well, I could win the lottery, but I hear that you actually have to play to win......... LOL

Yeah, I kind of like that.....
I emailed one of the women just before I worked out, gave her my home email and cell phone. We have been district colleagues for such a long time. I hope she calls and we can pal around, or whatever lesbians call it.

Big Smile, it's called Being with the Tribe, sugar ! Sometimes , also,we will feel what we "think" is Attraction to another lesbian, but it's often just Recognition.
Have fun.

"Thoughts are things! Think Good ones!"
The other lesbians probably had you pegged already.
I hope you get to have them as some friends to hang out with.

That's awesome, friend! What could have been an awkward start to the year is turning out to be a
I like that...."Being with the Tribe." Sounds all primal and real. Never heard of it before. It was recognition and not attraction. It was just one of those moments that you kind of hope for.
Today one of the women emailed me and said that she always suspected, but I was married. She asked "what took you so long." I told her about kids and choices, but I said that I was trying to make up for lost time. lol
