It's nice that blood is thicker than politics! I mean good blood, not all that nepotism, but caring about your family.

Couldn't agree with you more. I think that is the way my family has been. It's much closer than the old standby statement "I have a friend who is.......whater." In this case gay. It really brings it home to them. Acceptance is wonderful.

I wanted to cry when I watched the video.

I honestly believe the more of us who come out, we can turn the tide with this hatred towards gays. This Mayor looked at his daughter and realized.. his vote could make her a second-class citizen and rank the love she shares with a partner as 'less than'. Unequal.

But we need the violence towards us to be properly prosecuted to allow security in coming out. Gay panic defense should be laughed out of a courtroom. Can women be allowed to beat men who make unwanted passes? Same diff...

Furthermore, all this crap about looking for sex in public bathrooms... my bet is those are the places you find folks who don't want to come out. They want illicit sex because they're gay or bi but won't admit it BECAUSE THEY'RE AFRAID OF GAYBASHING.

I just don't understand how the world cannot see .. it's the wrongful demonization that perpetuates ALLLLL these horrible behaviours.

/end rant
