Hectic Week!

I haven't had a lot of time to come and play this week... life got hectic again suddenly!
Lets see- Friday Bull Mastiff drops dead at work. Boss was away- we had to deal with this ourselves
Saturday we go from 70 dogs overnight to 175. It's school holidays again- the schools have a 2 week break between terms- we are between term3 and 4 at the moment. The only times of the year we get so full as to turn away clients are christmas (we are booked out from March/April) and Easter. We can accommodate 143 single dogs so how many we can take depends on how well they get along with other dogs. I know the regular clients (the dogs, not the owners) better than anyone else...so it has been left to me to kennel them all. All that practice playing strategy-based games really paid off....
Sunday was worse than Saturday with arrivals happening before departures- so dogs had arrived before their allocated kennel was vacant. Took *some* juggling between arrivals, outdoor kennels for bath dogs and then dealing with all the departures at once later in the day.
Monday was my daughters 13th birthday. 6 friends over for party food and pizza, buzz and singstar on the playstation. Noisy bunch. She couldn't possibly plan it for a day I wasn't working so I was there for a while but had to go back to work and leave my poor partner in charge. She feels guilty because she pretty much left them to it and during that time, the heavy glass top on my coffee table got broken in half. She sent me a text, got really angry at the kids, took my daughter's 2 years worth of savings off her plus her birthday money. I was more concerned about anyone getting hurt but no one was. Told DD I didn't expect her to pay for the table, told GF it was my fault, the glass wasn't secured in place and it was probably an accident looking for a place to happen.
Monday night was the midnight release of Halo 3 on Xbox 360. Of course my son HAD to go to that.
Tuesday (today) was the family court hearing for my son's assailant. I had to work so my partner went to speak for him again. The other lad never turned up- said he had a stomach ache. It's all been rescheduled. The youth court supervisor told my GF he is disappointed this got flicked off to the youth justice system. This boy is a problem and he should have been dealt with properly, through the courts. There is no doubt that whatever the outcome, he will get off very lightly considering what he did. He thinks the police screwed up by not taking the case seriously enough. GF is going to follow up on the second assault and if no progress has been made on this, we will be laying a complaint to the police complaints authority.
I have 2 days off- but it's not over yet. Tomorrow night I am going to be invaded by teenage boys for a Halo 3 party. At least my son's friends have never broken anything!!

Wow I got tired reading that! *grin
That is One big kennel for starters.
Cripes, ya never have time to sit for a proper cup of tea or even wipe your arse. I thought I was frazzled yesterday, but you made my day seem like a walk in the park. When will you catch a breath.
My ds needed food. so I went shopping after work. I hate not having that "down" time. It makes me cranky. Pissed and moaned at my sortta gf on the phone and she certainly doesn't derserve that.
Gotta move on here. I'm at work this morning and this is only the second time I have been on "board" as I know Big Brother watches.
Slow down and take a breath, sister.
Hugs to keep you calm

Your week does sound very hectic. It's good you have an understanding GF to help you through it all.
The thing with the kids does sound fun though. Except for the table being broken but that can be replaced and nobody got hurt. So, that was a good thing.
Hang in there it will get better.
Hugs,

Sounds like a happy life to me, V!
She might not enjoy tea…maybe that’s why she is so hectic??
I don't know her like all the rest of you do, but I think she likes tea. Sort of comes with the territory. I won't be sitting next to her, either, but I think that is just a tad bit TMI. I actually might sit there, but not down wind.
Okay, that's just gross about the dogs. Why do dogs lick their butts and anybody else's they can find??????........because they CAN!
The more I read about your son, the more I think our boys would get along really well. My son is into Bleach, Death Note, Naruto and of course, Halo. He has an Xbox live account so I wonder if we could "introduce" them online? Would be interesting to compare their attitudes to having a lesbian mother- my son would say "who cares? And by the way, I just shot you...?"
Did you say sortta "gf"?
The teens were up until the early hours of the morning, re-arranging the house. We got up this morning to a complete black-out. No-one told us about the war.... oh, yes they did... ever since the release date of Halo 3 was announced. What they didn't tell us was they decided to start at 9am rather than the original 10am so we were all literally caught out in our underwear!
Read on the news this morning that Mt Ruapehu (gold star to anyone who can pronounce that, lol) erupted last night and we thought we might go for a drive up that way.
Yeah, that's what we keep calling ourselves. Kind of funny and cute. Why? You gotta a problem wit dat? I ken send sum of my boys over dere ta straighten youse out...
Hugs
