just popping in to let you all know surgery went fine. It's a bit sore but not like I was expecting. Kind of like a burn on the 2nd or 3rd day.
I have to keep my elbows to my side and move as little as possible for a week. Will be off work a good 3 weeks because my job is so physical.
I managed to get a corneal scratch somehow during surgery - took my PSP to play and turned out I couldn't see it. Eye was very uncomfortable. Had the surgery done at a surgical hospital- it was very nice compared to the public hospital but no doctor on call. I had to see a doctor on the way home about my sore eye.
SO yesterday my eye was causing me more discomfort than the surgery. I got eye cream put in it and have a huge patch holding my eye shut.
I thought before all this, gosh won't it be nice to see my feet again. There are other things I never thought of before.... I haven't been able to look down and see my stomach since I was pregnant! If I spilled anything while eating (hey it didn't happen THAT often) I would make a mess of my shirt. Now it completely misses and ends up in my lap. Had soup for dinner last night and couldn't hold the bowl.
I go to doctor today to have eye checked for signs of ulcering and I go to hospital tomorrow to have bandaging removed and hemovac drain removed.
I have to sleep on my back so I have had a very uncomfortable night so far (it's 4.30am) hurts my back too much. Just waiting for pain relief to kick in so I can try sleep again- but it will all be worth it.
Thanks for your well wishes everyone.

So glad to hear from you Ven. Sounds like the surgery was a success, except for your eye! Sorry you have to deal with that too, and I hope it will be ok.
We're thinking about you and wishing you a successful, pain-free recovery!
Hugs
Feel better soon!!!!
Glad to hear the surgery went well.
Enjoy your time off :o)
Pieces of My Life
My eye is feeling a little better this morning, off to the doctor in an hour to have it checked- it's really itchy today so maybe that's a sign of healing.
Hope my SO hasn't given you too much of a hard time in that other place. You would have figured by now that she is *always* right and there is just no point arguing with her most of the time. She is the type of person who has a mind like a sponge- she is always researching vague subjects and she retains 99% of what she has read- yet she can never remember where she left her car keys!
Oh!! Itchy...i dont know!!! I dont remember "itchy" with my cornea scratch...just no pain after about 72 hours! So come back and tell us what the doctors says. I want to
Hey, babe, glad the surgery went well. Sorry about the eye. I have had four of those. They are a nuisance, also. Won't be long and you will be a whole new woman!

Call mine "the girls." They are a C, but I wish they were smaller. Tough to play sports when three things are flying in the air and you can't figure out what to catch!
Babe!!! YOu have had FOUR 4...1, 2 ,3,
Got one in high school from my brother, one in college from romping in the fall leaves, one from my oldest kid when she was a kid, and the final one was at a Habitat site I was working at. My eyes are pretty good, though, even if I have a hole in my retina. It's all good, though.
I guess I don't give my eyes much thought, until it comes to umping.
Hugs
