trying to make new friends

ok so im trying to make new friends with people who are lesbian or bi because im bi and im tired of not being able to go to lesbian bars and "queer friendly" places because most of my friends are too straight to want to even go anywhere like that with me. i've been out since i was 16 and since then i've only been to one 2 gay bars and one event. i've done hours of research on trying to find social sites like myspace or facebook geared towards LGBT but none nearly as popular as those. i've been to many, tried to search for people and either come up with none in my area or the people who i do email or message don't email back and it's frustrating! i live so close to philly i could spit on it and i do plan on going to the "gayborhood" with my sister, who's straight but supportive, and hopefully be able to meet people or at least ONE person there. does anyone have any advice or know any sites i might have over looked? im not looking for a dating site im just looking for friends.
