Newbie here... Come say hi!

Little bit about me: I'm 21, soon to give birth to my first child (a baby boy), soon to be divorced, unemployed, and living with a friend, who is also my labor coach, during the week when my mom is out of town. I have always loved to write... I used to write everything from poetry to journal entries to lists so that I would remember the little things to short stories and more. My favorite thing to do was create new characters and base entire stories around who they were and what they lived like. However, in the past year or so I have "let myself go" where my writing was concerned. I just don't do it anymore, except the occasional journal entry or e-mail. It's been bothering me lately, so today I came on ivillage in an effort to get some ideas and/or inspiration. It worked, sort of... I read the article entitled "No More Excuses" and began the writing exercise at the end, the one that said to create a story in which "there is an element of time running out for a character." It's only a paragraph long right now, but it's a start and that makes me happy. I might post it for you eventually... But in the meantime, I just wanted to introduce myself to you all. Sorry if I was a bit wordy. :)
