Hi All!
Glad to be a part of this board, nice to know there are others dealing with the same problems I am :)
I was diagnosed with GAD/depression a few years back, I tried a few different dr's, then a few different meds, a few different sleeping aids, until I just got so frustrated, I stopped any medication and only continued my therapy.
Well I went back on the Wellbutrin and Klopin in February. I am FINALLY in a healthy and loving relationship (YAY!), and I had so much anxiety and fear, I was afraid my condition woudl drive one of us crazy :) (my anxiety is about 90% relationship based)
So my question. The Wellbutrin totally eliminated any anxious or irrational thoughts and I have been feeling GREAT, until this week. The anxiety isn't as bad, but more so than previous weeks. What is the goal of meds for anxiety? Will the "right" medication eliminate anxiety totally, or just some. The Dr wants to give it 1 more week to see how it goes.
So how will I know when I'm on the right dosage and the right medicaton? Can anyone offer their experience here?
Thanks much! :)

Hi & welcome to our community. You are not alone. It made me feel better to know that others knew exactly what I experienced. You will find alot of caring & supportive folks here.
Meds & cognitive behavioral therapy give the best results for anxiety, according to research. It does seem that meds will not always give 100% relief. Also, alot of the members report that it takes time to find the correct drug & dose & even a combination of meds. Our bodies change & sometimes meds need a tune up after awhile. Most antidepressants take 4 to 6 weeks to give a clear picture. What do you think? Have you given the wellbutrin enough time? Are you under more stress the past couple of weeks? Is this just a temporary reoccurence of anxiety? You & your dr. will need to work this out. Personally, I would give the wellbutrin more time.
Have you tried any other methods to deal with the anxiety? There's alot of posts on meditation, yoga, herbals, hypnotherapy, accupuncture, breathing & relaxation exercises. Try the anxiety workshop @ the top of this page. We will support you in whatever method you choose. Join us in chat. The ppl share their meds, therapy & ways of coping. It's very helpful. Post anytime with questions or concerns. We care about you & want you to feel better.
That is great news about your relationship. You are lucky to have someone. Don't be a stranger. Good luck! Sending P&PT's your way. (((hugs))) jan
Blessings, Suz
