If I wake up in the middle of the night with a panic attack I will count. I usually take in a deep breath and count to ten. Then take in another breath and count backwards from 10 to 1. I continue to do this and it seems to help me most of the time. Also if I feel anxious when I am trying to go to bed I will count until I fall asleep. If I am feeling anxious about a wierd feeling I usually will close my eyes and take a breath and tell myself that I am not going to die, and I am not going to let this feeling ruin my day.
Just a few things I do that help sometimes.
