Those who have or who now use Klonopin?

I have been taking klonopin .5 mg since last wednesday. It makes me feel tired all day. Do you start to get more energy after taking it for a while? I am definatly more calm and a lot less anxiety, but the lack of energy is hard when you have a 5 year old to keep up with. I am also taking Celexa and I wonder if that might be causing the energy drain also. I have an appt with my pdoc on Thursday and will discuss this, I just wanted to hear from someone who is taking it and see if their energy levels came back after a certain period.
Thanks,
Candie

Hi Candie
Just to let you no that I do take clonazepam (Klonopin) and have since Nov 2004, at first it did make me somewhat sleepy and no energy , which could have been from the anxiety/panic and the drug also. I feel much better now and my energy levels are up except when I am in a low mood, after awhile its just like taking any other med, you take it and don't even think about it. As for Celexa, my DH just started a new drug the same as Celeax, just a newer verision I guess and he is finding that it makes him very sleepy, which he enjoys, because he was never a good sleeper, he takes his around 4pm and he finds that by the time he goes to bed he is ready for a good sleep. So I would say the two meds together would make you tired and have low energy, until they get into your body and start to take effect. I have taken clonazepam in the past for my disorder and find it is the best one for me, my panic is gone and I now only experience slight anxiety at times, mainly when my stress levels are up, with the med and alot of hard work, like relearning my relaxation exercises and positive self talk and realizing when I need to stop and check myself,to slow things down and not make mountains out of mole hills. I have had panic/ anxiety for the last 19 years off and on, so i have lots of experience with it although at times all the experience in the world doesn't help unless we help ourselves! Hope this is of some help to you and that things get better for you soon.

good luck. it is a good drug for anxiety. worked great for me last year, this year i just have so much more going on that it couldn't control my panic attacks (even with meditation and breathing, etc).

Thanks everyone for your response. I do have a lot less anxiety since being on this medicine. I am just hoping my energy levels will come back soon. I might try taking the celexa earlier and see if that improves the feelings :)
