Momsers! I wanted to try & smooth things over a bit. You did NOTHING wrong. I had iVillage look over the website & it was ok'ed. If you ever have a question about which sites are ok to post, scroll to the bottom of any page & read *terms of service.* I have posted drug info from approved sites that could trigger us. That's the nature of anxiety. Please don't take this personally. We value you & your participation on our board. Just as much, as we do Bee. It was good that Bee shared her feelings, since this is a valuable resource for all of us.

Now that I have a captive audience, I have a question for you all. Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble with the tv ads for new drugs? When they run down the list of side effects as if they're nothing @ all, I get so anxious. Do any of you turn the volume down or go to another station? I guess what really has me

Jan,
Thanks for the reassurance. I feel terrible that I caused someone to have a panic attack! I guess if you read the side effects of any medication, you would never take anything! About your situation, can you lower your cholesterol with diet? M

Hi JAN
Thanks for writing this post, I just wrote one to momsers letting her know that she wasn't to take what I said personal, that it was just a heads up! I agree with you about the ads on TV I always kind of laugh and say thanks for letting me no about all those nice side effects, because now I'll never take your med. LOL
Now I feel bad for you Jan, that your Doc has given you one to take, all I can say is he's knows you best and what you can tolerate so I no he picked the one that will suite you best. Have you started it yet and how are you making out with it? Keep me posted I want to know how your doing.

Take Care
Bee (brenda)

Thanks for your replies. I have been using diet & exercise & another cholesterol lowering med. The problem is, that with my diabetes, the dr. would like to see my numbers even lower. I began around 200 & am now @ 180. With the statin, he expects to see 160 & if it works well, maybe 140. That is alot lower than what you might expect. The latest research shows that the lower the cholesterol level, the lower risk of heart disease in diabetics. Since I do have a hereditary risk & I am getting closer to menopause, we need to take a more aggressive approach. I am thinking, folks. I would like to live a couple more years, but will taking something scary raise my anxiety? Will keep you posted. (((hugs))) jan
