Had acupuncture today

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with you. I went today for acupuncture to help with my anxiety (mainly about my health) and to help me lose weight. I went to a licensed MD who has been practicing "medical acupuncture" for over 10 years. I filled out the usual paperwork and then the doctor met with me and asked me questions for 10-15 minutes. He offered lots of advice on weight loss, but he didn't say much about anxiety. He showed me the picture of a human ear with all of the points on it that correspond to the different parts of the body. He took me to the exam room, looked at my hands carefully, and put 2 needles into each ear, one in the "stomach" area and one in the "appetite control" area. He covered me up and turned off the lights and left me in the room for about 20 minutes. During this time I thought of all different things, but I have to say I have never felt so relaxed! When he came back in he took my vital signs, and then he used a machine to electrically stimulate different areas of my ear, including one for depression and one for "aggression." (I'm not sure why he thought this was necessary!). Since the appointment this morning, I have been very calm all day. I have not been hungry, and I have only wanted to eat healthy foods. I hope this lasts! M

Thanks for sharing, M! That sounds like an acceptable treatment for folks looking for an alternative. I hope & pray it sticks with you for a very long time. Keep us posted! Good luck! (((hugs))) jan
