Some of you may remember me I posted on the boards a few times last summer. During last summer I was feeling so bad that I stayed in bed for 3 months. The doctor told me that it was panic disorder and gave me Prozac. I finally started leaving the house in late July and did pretty well untill now. In case you don't remember last year this all started when one day I was putting away laundy and I got very dizzy I went and laid down but the dizziness did not go away. The dizziness was there mildly for the next couple of months. When I did get better I assumed that it all had to do with the Panic Disorder and the Prozac was helping.
Now here we are again at the same time of year, I was hoping that I would be fine because I have the Panic Disorder somewhat under control but I was wrong. About 3 weeks ago on March 30th I started to get a headache and felt dizzy. When I went up to bed I was so dizzy that I could barely walk, then when I laid down it got worse than ever. I could even move or it would get worse. Earlier that evening I had eaten a lot of left over Easter Chocolate so I figured that was proably it and it would go away. Now here I am 3 weeks later and I am still dizzy. Not as bad but enough to interupt my daily activities. I did go to the doctor and she told me that it was viral and it would go away within a week but it didn't. I am at the point now where it is ruining my life and marriage. I feel like I should just go back to bed and stay there.
I didn't think that Panic Disorder is Seasonal but this is the same time it happened last year. I don't know what to do anymore I just want to be well. Do you guys have any thougts or idea's.
I tried to go to the chat but nobody was there. Is the chat tonight?
Sorry this is so long!
Sarah

I am not expert by any means at all. But just thought I would pass an idea onto you.
My husband just purchased a Apollo Health Go-Lite in March, because he was feeling really bummed and just plain unhappy.
This has really helped his Seasonal Affective Disorder quite a lot. I am going to try the therapy here in the next week, myself. (Geez, Anything that can help I am more than willing to give it a try!) ;0)
If you are interested in reseaching more about this product you can go to the makers website at this link:
http://www.apollohealth.com.
There is also a free assessment test which I have also done, and will be following once I start the treatment. However, we didn't purchase the product thru Apollo because it was extremely expensive and found it cheaper at the Natural Emporium, Here is the link in case you are interested:
http://store.yahoo.com/naturalemporium/gopohalithde.html
But you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
Keep Hanging in there! I hope this idea might give you a little help and relief.
Wishing you the best. hugs, shasta
Hi, Sarah! Welcome back. I am very sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I am not certain if there's any literature out there that shows evidence that our anxiety is seasonal. I have had severe anxiety bouts 3 times around Easter. Go figure?!?! I am pretty convinced from what others have posted here & my own experience, that it comes in spells. Like your's last summer, the meds & treatments do help, but the anxiety seems to burn out on it's own. It will do that now, Sarah, but never soon enough to satisfy us. Is there any extra stress in your life? Any changes that have upset your routine?
What coping strategies did you learn? Which ones worked? Now is the time to focus on positive thinking, breathing, relaxation. Keep your mind busy & don't allow yourself to be consumed by this feeling of dizziness. As much as you can, go about your daily activities. Of course, if you're too dizzy to drive & may be a danger, I would avoid that. Try not to go to bed. That sounds simple, but for me, that would cause me to focus on the dizziness more than what was healthy.
Have you told your dr. that the *virus* hasn't subsided? If she knows that, perhaps there is something else that can be done. Maybe another med to get you through this spell. Have you ever seen a therapist? Did it help? Perhaps you would consider it.
Hopefully others will come along with their coping strategies. There's alot of experience on our board. I know that you will be fine, but it's hard to convince yourself of that when you feel so rough. Please post with any questions or concerns. I will check on the chat, though I had heard Mel had pc problems. Good luck & GBU! Sending P&PT's your way. (((hugs))) jan
Hi Jan! I can’t really think of any extra stress in my life that has come on in the last 3 weeks. My brother did visit over Easter and that was a huge stressor but this started after he left. I also have been having some trouble with my marriage mostly because of my Panic Disorder but that has been going on for a while.
I have been trying to concentrate on my breathing and staying relaxed. Last year scrapbooking really helped me to keep my mind busy so I am trying to do that but in the last couple of days I have not wanted to do anything even things that I love. I haven’t been to dizzy to drive but I get anxious when I leave the house.
The doctor that told me it was a *virus* was just an urgent care doctor. I won’t have a regular doctor until after the 1st because I switched insurance companies. I have been seeing a therapist although I am not sure if it is doing any good or not.
I did manage to find some people in the chat room last night. Mel was having pc problems but she got on eventually. The ladies there suggested that I try Claritin in case this in allergies. I did try Sudafed yesterday because I thought maybe I was having allergies but the Sudafed made me feel terrible. I am also planning on trying my Klonopin today. I don’t know if you remember but last year I talked to you about taking it and when I did I have a full blown panic attack. Hopefully that will not happen again.
Thank You for the help!
Sarah
Hello
Sounds like you are good at figuring things out. My first thoughts were allergies or/and Vertigo.
Before you take anything for your sinuses check to make sure there are no contraindications with any of your other meds. Antihistimes work differently than decongestants. You can try one, then the other or both (Claritin D or Allegra D. The D being for decongestant). Each can cause their own set of side effects. Ask your doctor and tallk to your pharmacist.
Because its happening right around Spring makes me think it is allergies. IMHO
Let us know what works.
