Hi, I have come to this board, because I have had anxiety since I was a teen, about 20 years. I have had a few panic attacks, and they make me feel like I am dying. I take medication when I feel them coming on, which helps. I also have taken an antidepressant for 10 years. I hope to share my history with others, get support and advice, and maybe even learn some non-medicinal coping techniques, if there is such a thing! lol.

Hello, Renee! We are so glad to see you. You are NOT alone. I can relate to the feeling & overwhelming fear of dying when panic strikes. I spent alot of years running to the ER everytime. Now, I can calm myself with breathing & relaxation exercises & positive thoughts.


There's alot of info in the posts from our caring community, as well as the info on the top of this page & the folders below. Take some time to read @ your leisure. Share your story when you feel able. You will find support & acceptance here. Consider joining us in chat. The folks are willing to listen to new folks & share their experiences & coping techniques.

Thanks for the reply! I see the articles above, and I will read them. But which folders do you mean, "below"? And, I don't know what P & PT is. hehe. A bit embarrassed...

Please don't be embarrassed. I have my own abbreviations for things & like a dumbie, I assume everyone is on the same page as me. LOL P&PT is prayers & positive thoughts. As for folders, we are in the *our anxiety discussions* folder. Below is one entitled *off topic* & another *what's new on health.* There's some good info in those. Sorry, Renee!
