Grocery Shopping

My dh is going grocery shopping tonight. I was planning on not going. Now I am wondering if I should make myself go, maybe that will halp if I take that step.

I had such an anxiety attack at my pdr the other day that I have been afraid to go out since.

Does it help to just take that step? I wonder if I'm making it worse by sitting home and being scared, I WON'T let this control me.

I have been on meds for 6 days and am still feeling like crap but I think that I have to try to help myself.

Any comments.. ideas?

I know it's scary, Heather. But from my own experience, I have learned that NOT taking the chance just makes it easier & easier NOT to go anywhere. I think I would take advantage of this situation. You will have your dh there for support & that is a big step to going out on your own as you begin to feel more safe & secure.

That was your first pdoc visit, right? If so, it is possible that it threw you off from the anxiety of a new situation. Grocery shopping is something you are familiar with & know what to expect. I will say a prayer for you. Let us know what you decide & how you make out. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Heather,

I know how you feel about going out. I too have the fear of having a panic attack in public. Last year I let that contol me and I spent the entire summer in bed. Not just my house I really couldn't leave my bed I was so afraid. This year when the same feelings started again I made the decision that I am not going to spend my summer in bed again. So everyday I force myself to get out. It is very hard and I usually feel terrible but when it is over you will be proud of yourself. Also it gets easier every time.

Having your DH will help to. Let us know how it goes.
