Hi Suz, Firstly-Just wanted to say I am so sorry your dh is not feeling well, I hope he gets to feeling better soon. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.
You are in my thoughts.
Also-Just wanted to say that is SO GREAT you are out doing the yard work. I love mowing the lawn, but that stone edging job would have taken me out! Way to go!I bet it looks wonderful too! You can come over to my house and help me with my yard work anytime! hee hee! I have so much to do still this spring! It is driving me crazy! But I totally love gardening, so as soon as the rain stops in the Pac NW I will be very busy. So that is some of my excercise. I have been very bad about exercising lately, so need to get off my hiney and get with it! We (me & dh) have been trying to walk after dinner. I love riding my bike and love doing pilates. But have been very bad about doing anything lately!
(Maybe we all could encourage each other everyday????
Hmmmm, May have to start a post on the 'fun' side of the board about this subject. Not that exercise is fun! LOL!)
But I would have to say pilates has been my most successful of exercise tapes. It's great for building and toning muscles, stretching, breathing and relaxing, plus you don't have to be 'a major' athlete to do it. It's a lot of fun! Now I just need to get back to doing it everyday! LOL! Have a great weekend! hugs, shasta

Noone can possibly hate exercise the way I do! You will never see me sweating it out in the gym or on machines. So, walk, walk, walk is my motto. I do the *park the car farther away from where I'm going* & walk the extra steps. That is quite a feat for me, because a year ago, I had problems going in places if I couldn't see where my car was parked. I also take the stairs when I can & that isn't to avoid the elevator. I actually feel more trapped in staircases & they are so lonely, but I push through the anxiety. I have a teeny tiny yard that I mow myself in about 8 minutes, but I am big on gardening. I quit my water walking @ the Y due to my winter hibernation *bad* habit & now I would like to get started again. It helped my knees so much! But... OMG! The bathing suit dilemma. Do they make wearable tents??? Get something started in fun stuff, Shasta! Count me in:) (((hugs))) jan

Last year when I joined weight watchers i started going to the gym. I used the elliptical and treadmill, I also walked 2 miles a day.
I pushed myself hard and lost 45 lbs really fast. I did do it the right way though, I ate very well and made sure to drink my water and eat all my fruits and veggies.

Then to maintain I bought an ellipitical for home. I got tired of going to the gym and doing all that work.
Before all this happened and I got sick I was doing the ellipitical for 20 minutes a day and walked 2 miles a day. I had also started weight training to tone up. I also do sit ups and stomach exercises.

This all stopped 3 weeks ago when I had my 1st panic attack, I had gone for a walk last week and while I was walking I started to get dizzy and feel awful so I have been scared to walk since then.

I plan to start again this week, I am going to do the ellipticial for 10 minutes to start and go for a short walk and hopefull work up to my full 2 miles.

We'll see.... :)

I love working out. But, I don't workout to relieve anxiety. I do it because I want to. I workout everyday. So far, I've only missed one day in years. That was due to a terrible stomach virus. I was dehydrated without any food, so I was too weak to workout.

I run twice a week, do cardio 5 times a week, and 3-4 times a week- I spend 15 to 30 minutes in the sauna. I do weights daily usually only 2 reps per 3 different types of weight exercises. I'm not fond of weights, so I break it up small like that. I also try 5 times a week to incorporate 2 reps of two different type of leg exercises. A slight leg workout helps with my leg muscles and makes me a stronger runner. Sometimes if I have time, I'll switch out one day of cardio for a 6 mile walk.

I guess you could say I workout like some people practice a religion. It is vital to me. And, I will rearrange almost anything to incorporate my workout.
