Hello. Im new here. I had my first panic attack 2 and a half weeks ago. Since then, it has been hell. I feel like I cannot breathe all day long, I get numb and have hot flashes. I also have severe disociations (sp). I have been in and out of the ER, to the doctor, etc, and have had blood work, x rays, etc. Is there anyway they missed something and I really am dying? My panic attacks are so severe I make my mom rush me to ER. When I am not in a panic attack, I have shallow breathing and sit around wondering whether or not another one will come. My main concern though, is in the middle of the night, I wake up with parts of my body 'asleep', and I am tingly, numb, and cannot catch my breath. Is this normal for anxiety as well? I started lexapro 7 days ago and i almost feel worse on it. I am also on ambien, xanax, and resperdal (sp). Please help I feel like every moment is my last and my end is near-I cannot live like this anymore! I dont talk to people really, I am afraid to leave my house, had to stop going to school, and quit my job. i need advice! please help! (sorry so long...)

I definitely can relate to the symptoms u posted, I remember rushing to the hospital because I was sleeping on my couch woke up and it felt like my upper chest and upper arms were still asleep and it was such an odd feeling. Sometimes I would wake up and my cheeks and forehead would still feel asleep, and when I would touch it its like I didnt have any feeling there. I would like to think its just not getting enough sleep or your body is so tired that some parts dont kick in right away. I know at those times I wasnt sleeping hardly and when I did I was so tired then I would wake up and have those feelings. I can tell you it will get better but you have to have faith that it will and get on your feet and keep your mind active.

Also to the one(sorry I dont remember the s/n) that posted about the "unreality" feeling, that was/is my worst symptom also I used to get so freaked out I didnt know what was going on or anything, I thought I was losing it. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi, Kevin! Nice to hear from you. Did you get tickets to the Spurs? I don't follow it much, but I thought there were some play offs down there. Hope you're doing well. Always in my thoughts! (((hugs))) jan
