Hey Guys! I havent formally introduced myself on here. My name is Katie, and I am 17 with severe anxiety and panic issues. If you all dont mind, I would like to become a more regular poster. This place really helpes relieve some stress and anxiety and Im so grateful it is here. Could you all introduce yourself to me just so I know who everyone is? Is this a board with regular posters or more come and go'ers? Either way-Id like to get to know the people around here because I plan to post regularily, once again, if no one minds. Look forward to 'meeting' you all!

Hi, Katie! Nice to have you here. Our community extends a helping hand to anyone with anxiety issues. Please make yourself @ home & get comfy. We have many regular members, but we have those who come in crisis, then move on in their lives. That's to be expected. We want you & anyone who visits our board to find new ways to cope with the anxiety bug & make a good life for themselves. I'm jan, the co-cl on the board & it's so nice to meet you. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Hi Katie and WELCOME!! My name is Judy and I am what you would
call a regular- I am here often and have had anxiety and panic
for many years! I am retired now and enjoying my grandbaby girl
and my kids here in Florida! I am a retired reading teacher
living in paradise except when the hurricanes come but
hey nothing's perfect!! I also had agoraphobia but got
over that THANK GOD with therapy, courage and meds!
Life sends me some rough times but for the most part the
terrible panic has bit the dust!! Take care I am sure we
will chat some time! =0) Judy

Nice to meet all of you! Thank you for being so accepting. It feels good to meet people that are going through the same thing as I. I will be posting regularily (more than likely) and will keep all of you in my prayers!

Katie, hi and welcome! You must be one smart cookie to figure this out at 17! I wish I had been that smart. I am 40 and have had anxiety attacks and hypochondria on and off for about 20 years, but only in the past year have I figured it out. My anxiety is probably both genetic and caused by a chaotic childhood. I believe strongly in trying everything available to try to feel better. I am taking Zoloft which helps. I have also tried yoga, meditation, acupuncture, diet (healthy), and exercise as well as therapy, and it all helps. Keep at it and you will get through all the tough times and be able to have a happy life. M.
