Hi this is the first time that i have actualy posted on this board. I have been dealing with really bad anxiety for the last 3 months. We don't really know what's causeing it, but i have terrible shortness of breath many times a day. my docs started me on lexapro, then prosac and now for the last month i have been on zoloft along with klonopin. I'm up to 150mg on the zoloft and 1mg of the klonopin. Wondering if anyone else has had this symptom, didn't really see any posts about it anywhere, but i have been loosing my hair, in massive amounts, i have probley a third of my hair gone in the last month and a half. they've done blood work and ruled out thyroid, hormones and immune problems. they say it can be caused by stress and anxiety, but i haven't seen anyone else with this problem here. any advice would be wonderful

Hi, Jill & welcome to our kind & caring community. Here is a recent thread that may have some help for you. http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-bhpanic&msg=16469.1
I am sorry to hear about your troubles with anxiety. You are not alone. Many of us have had that *tuggy* feeling with our breathing, as if we weren't doing it right somehow. It is dang scary. Have you tried the belly breathing? I use it successfully, but it took tons of practice. Breathe in through your nose as you watch your abdomen rise. Then, breathe out through your mouth as you watch your abdomen fall. It's actually the opposite of what we have been doing wrong all these years. Some ppl have better results if they lay down to do it, but I can do it in any posistion. It has helped me out in alot of places, like driving, lines in the supermarket, the mall or anywhere my anxiety is triggered. My second thought is have you sought counseling? That can be very helpful. One of the things I learned was that I actually set myself up while driving. I would sit in a tense position & hold tightly to the steering wheel. When you learn little things like this, you have the power to correct them.
