i recently started hanging out with a recent ex and he revealed to me that he had been suffering from anxiety/panic attacks and is currently taking xanax. hes having a terrible time and becoming increasingly depressed. i want so badly to be there for him and help him in any way that i can but i dont know what there is i can do. is there any way for me to help relieve him of any of the stress hes feeling???

Hi! Nice to have you here. You are a really good friend to want to be there & give support. As Suz said, you can't learn to cope for your friend. He'll have to do that himself. But, if you'd like to read the back posts & join us in chat, you can learn how anxiety works & ways others have learned to live with it. It won't do you any good to nag your friend into trying these new ways, but you can gain alot of insight & knowledge. Keep in touch. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
