Feeling overwhelmed today

Hi Ladies. Thanks for talking in chat last night. Today, I am not doing so well. I feel so overwhelmed with all I need to do. I mean REALLY overwhelmed. It's really a strong feeling, and I'm starting to get that spacey feeling. Which is just what I don't need right now. I need to concentrate!

The deal is, my husband lost his job, second time in 6 months. He has less than 8 weeks unemployment left. Yesterday he had an interview for a job making about 3/5 what he used to. I think he blew the interview on purpose because of that. I don't know what he thinks we will do when the mortgage is due, and there is no money! We have to sell the house, but I'm not the most organized, and there's crap all over the place. Stuff, you know. AND, I need to be on this darn computer every day looking for jobs for him, and applying for them. Takes longer than you think. Most places want you to fill out an application online, plus then there is the individualized cover letter that requires composing. Why can't he do it, you ask? I'm a secretary, can weed through the jobs faster, can type the letters better and faster, and, honestly, I don't trust him to not delete the "so-so" jobs.

I myself have an interview for a job Tuesday. That is starting to make me really nervous, plus the thought of working full-time, as opposed to part-time, like I am now -- and having even less time.

I have a house to organize, clean, and get on the market, mounds of laundry, blah blah blah...

And, I have a question I would like advice for. My employer wants ALL of us to "manditorily volunteer" (oxymoron!) tomorrow for 2 hours for a picnic for the preschoolers we teach. I don't agree that's fair. BUT, I have the interview for the job coming up, in another division of my company Tuesday. I'm afraid if I don't volunteer, it'll get back to the new division. What do you think? Would you volunteer?

SO NERVOUS and OVERWHELMED!

Renee

Jan,

Yes, I'm afraid you're right. It's like a child -- he needs to learn to do it himself. I guess I'm not doing him any favor after all. I suppose once I get off here so much, then I'll be able to get the house done more! :o)

So, I went to the picnic for a while. I hope it pays off, hehe.

Thank you so much for your advice. You don't know how much it means that someone is listening and cares!

Hope you are well...

Renee
