Westcoast Tsunami Warning,little scared!

Ok, I am freaking a little here...We just had the emergency warning bulletin for a possible tsunami, luckily my dh and I were watching local news and had the radio on in the kitchen, to hear the warnings. We are inland quite a ways. But it is still a little scary! The earthquake was by Eureka,Ca and the warning is all the way from CA to AK. I am in Oregon. But I feel good that the warning system seems to work! I hope there won't be a tsunami, but it was good to have the warning. Makes me want to go to the store tomorrow and stock up on supplies, I know I should have more on hand then I do! Just wanted to share. I'm not too anxious, just a little nervous...Especially with Mt. St.Helens so close...Just wanted to share, Thanx for listening! hugs, shasta

They still have some of the ppl on the Oregon coast evacuated, but they seem to think the threat is very low. I will probably stay up, and see what happens with the possible tsunami that could happen as far up as Alaska-Just to make sure everyone is safe, And also that there are no after-shocks...
It is comforting to know that the new warning system worked! :0D
And I was able to contact family members and let them know, as they had not even heard yet. So it worked out well.
I still plan on getting more supplies to have on hand tho' because we are in the earthquake/volcano, and now I guess the tsunami zone.
Plus I think we have used up all our Y2K supplies, by now! lol!
Our family (me & dh's) always make fun of us for wanting to be prepared (we got alot of grief for what we did to prepare for Y2K-And it was nothing out of the ordinary, just stuff you should always have on hand in case of a disaster--) We figure better to have disaster supplies at home and ready for anything, then to not have any supplies at all!
So I guess I will be shopping tomorrow!
Thanx for listening to me rant tonite!
Have a great Wednesday! I hope all is well with everyone!
hugs, shasta
I just read about the tsunami warning in the paper this morning, how scary for you! I need to stock up on supplies, too, being in NC during hurricane season without any supplies is bound to lead to stress that I don' need!

Shasta,
That is scary. I am so happy that everything turned out ok and that nothing happened. Was it a bad earthquake?
Take Care...
