Today was the first day since I went on Lexapro that I had a complete anxiety-free and side effect-free day!!! I was able to walk around downtown with my boyfriend after all the shops closed and feel compleatly relaxed and just, happy. I havn't felt depressed at all for days either. Is it normal for the medicine to be having this good of an effect after only a week and 1/2 or is it just a fluke?
Another question - I'm geering up to return to work soon.. probably just part time to start, but I was wondering what types of jobs everyone on this board has and how they deal with their anxiety at work. What type of job do you think would be "better" for someone dealing with anxiety?
I'm open to suggestions! Thanks all for being so supportive and sweet!

Why fret & stew over the reason or reasons you've had such a good day? Relax & enjoy it! That is great news & sharing it gives so much hope to all of us on the board. Many times it seems as if the meds/therapy is working, but please, Meghan give yourself a pat on the back. You are working hard to be in a good place.
Starting out part-time sounds like a good plan. If we did a poll, we would find all sorts of careers maintained by folks on our board. There are no limits to what you can do. Try not to allow limits. You can eek out a good career & with your new found ways of coping, make a success @ it! Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
I'm so glad you had such a great day! You should be so proud of yourself. I think all occupations come with stress. The best thing is to find a job doing something you truly love. If you could have any job, what would it be?? I'd love to work as a labor & delivery nurse, but can't afford to go back to school - so I've been looking into some midwivery programs and even into doula classes. Is there something you dream of?

I loved teaching but at times it was very
stressful! I agree that you should think about
things you would enjoy doing and go from there!
Keep us posted =0) Judy
Good for you. I know what a relief it is to have a good day!
I am taking lexapro and everyone reacts different to it, for me I started out having some good days then I would have some bad ones. Especially when
