Hi everyone!
My name is Jessica. I am a SAHM to two wonderful kids. I also recently opened an in home daycare. I'm slowly getting spots filled. I was working for a little while outside the home and was miserable. I love being with my children so I decided to start this small home business. I am also a college student, taking the summer off. Whew, lol. I'm on the go all the time... I seem to be happier when I'm busy. I need routines, I need to have things to do at all times. If not, I'm miserable. I could sleep all day if I didn't have things to do. Matter of fact, when my kids were in school and I was in school I would take them to school, come home and go back to sleep, then pick my daughter up(she only went half days) come home and feed her and take a nap with her. It was horrible. My house was a wreck, nothing was getting done.
I've never been diagnosed with anxiety... I think I have it, but I'm not certain. I went to a gastroenterologist about a year ago and he told me I have IBS, but he believed it was anxiety causing it. Which I definitely believe. The year my son started preschool was my worst year, I think. I was not used to other people taking care of him and I freaked out. It was a 20 minute drive to his school and I would be hit with stomach cramps before we would leave the house. I would have to stop at a convenient store on the way, getting both of my kids out(1&3 at the time) and run in the bathroom with the runs... barely making it sometimes. I go through stages with it. Sometimes it bothers me, sometimes it doesn't. If my husband and I are fighting, you can bet I'm going to be stuck in the bathroom. The stomach issues started when I was a teenager. I'm 26 now.
I hope to hear back from some of you! :)

There is help & hope for anxiety issues. Many in our community have used meds, individual therapy, support groups, hypnotherapy, meditation, relaxation, etc. We will support you in whatever path you choose. We are creatures of habit & I'm not a bit surprised to learn that you thrive on routine. Also, keeping busy is a must to keep our focus off the anxiety.
Settle in & make yourself comfy. We want you to feel better & live a good life. Our members are very generous in sharing their successful methods
Hi Jessica,
We just "met" in chat. i'm happy that you decided to post and join us.
I am also 26. I have twins Boys.
You said that you have never been diagnosed. Have you ever thought about seeing someone? It may help.
I hope that you continue to post and join chat!
I have to keep busy but I have learned to find a better balance
with this! I was getting anxiety from doing to much to keep
it away LOL!!
I also did a daycare in my home when I was younger and then
I was a teacher in elementary reading. I LOVE KIDS!!
They are so much fun!
I am glad you posted at last!! Keep coming back!

welcome to the board, this is a great place to post for people with anxiety, or even just generally a little more anxious than the general population :) everyone here is really ncie and supportive, so i hope you stick around.
I was also diagnosed with IBS when I was a teenager, probably a result of my anxiety disorder. I have cramps every single morning when I wake up along with an upset stomach, so i can understand your frustration.
anyway, I hope you continue posting here

Hi Jessica - I, too, was in chat this a.m., I'm glad you have decided to step out of the shadows and join in. You will find great support here. We have chat tonight at 9 est if you can make it! I have a 4 y.o. son and have wanted to open a daycare for quite some time. The house we just bought has an inground pool, so I'm not sure it's a good idea anymore! The pool makes me so nervous when there are kids here. I'm considering a drop-off daycare, I read about one on another board, like a "moms morning out" type of thing where I could have the kids for 4 hours 1 or 2 days a week. We'll see!
