Depression Message Board for Men??

Hi gals! HAPPY FRIDAY!
Hey-I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good site for men to go to for support with their depression and anxiety?
I am worried about my little brother(32 yrs). We are very very close, altho we don't always get to talk as much as we used to because he has moved back in with my folks...long story...
I worry about him because all he does is work, eat, and sleep all weekend.
I feel sad for him because he is such a special person.
He's never really had a 'real girlfriend'. He is sweet, funny and such a great person.
He has lost alot of friends due to untimely deaths, and has had a gambling problem in the past. He lost his roommate a couple years ago when he passed away from complications from hemophilia. It was very sad. So now he is back at home with my folks which is great of my parents, but I don't feel it is helping him with his life much. I would say it would have been helpful for him financially, but I asked my mom this week how he was and she clued me in that he may be gambling again...I really hope he isn't, but like anxiety, I think gambling is heritary in my family too unfortunately!!! (Note:I think my mom knew he was gambling, because she must have 'bumped' into him, when she was! Thank heavens that is 1 problem I don't have! But I do believe it is an illness) Anyways, Thanx for letting me rant after my initial question...I guess I needed to vent about it more than I thought! LOL! Thanx for listening, And if you have any website suggestions where he could post at that are as wonderful as our community, I would love to hear about them! Have a GREAT FRIDAY and a REALLY HAPPY FUN AND RELAXING WEEKEND! hugs, shasta

I don't know of any here on iVillage, Shasta. It's a novel idea, as men may relate better to men. However, we're not allowed to promote other sites that have message boards. It's considered competition. LOL
As for your db, I can see why you're concerned. My db had a drinking problem & after losing his shirt, returned to live with my folks. I don't think it's a good idea either. He's still there with good old mom & dad @ the age of 43. Yikes! Are there any support groups near you? Can you get him involved in any volunteer activities that might get him out of his shell a bit? Gambling is a real issue for some folks & a habit hard to break. Did you happen to watch *Intervention* over on A&E on Sunday nights? They filmed real life interventions(with professionals, thank goodness) after showing the lives
TTYS! HUGS, shasta
I am thinking your mammo is today too.
I will be thinking of you, & I am so sorry you have had practically no sleep, you poor gal. If there is anything at all I can ever do to help, please let me know. I think you have my email address.
Wishing you good thoughts this morning.
Let me know how you are doin'k? Also how is Jas? Write when you can, and quit tryn to take care of everyone else! Please take some time for yourself this weekend k? No yard work! LOL! BIG HUG, shasta
