Hi everyone-

my name is heather, i am a new mom and i live just outside of chicago. i have been dealing with panic disorder for 10 years now, and it comes and goes...recently "coming."
i become agoraphobic and have a hard time leaving my house:(

anyways, i'm looking for support and others who have problems like this so i don't feel so alone in this problem.

i currently take paxil for my anxiety and have xanax prn, but i really really don't want to take this (cause i don't want to have to rely on it).

hope to get to know you all-

heather

Hi Heather, welcome to the board. this is a really open and supportive community for individuals with anxiety disorders, everyone here has really great advice to offer so you definitely came to the right place.
my name is Mia, and im 25 living in NYC with my common law husband (feels weird to call him that, its only been a week since it became official). im currently in grad school studying psychology ironically enough. I've had anxiety since I was very young, and much like yours it comes and goes. My most recent bout was the worst one ever, and left me unable to leave the house for a couple of weeks. luckily with the help of medication, counselling and the support of people in my life as well as those on this board i was able to overcome it.
please keep posting and as Heather mentioned join us for chats every tuesday and thursday.

Mia
