Hi, I hope you're feeling better this morning. You have nothing to be scared about, I promise. I was on the same med combination and it worked wonders. the lexapro takes a little long to take effect. you won't get the full effects until 4 - 6 weeks after you begin taking them, but some people start feeling better after just two weeks. Also, keep in mind that for many people the lexapro causes agitation and an edgy feeling for the first couple of weeks. I know it's hard right now, but try to give it more time. If you're still not feeling sure maybe you should call your doctor and ask to talk to a nurse, and describe to him/her how you're feeling.

Hi, Elaine! I'm sorry to hear that things are uncomfortable. In my personal experience, it will take @ least 4 weeks for the lexapro to do it's job. Sometimes as much as 6 weeks. The klonopin should give you some relief until that happens. If it isn't working, please call your dr. Finding distractions when the anxiety is high is essential. Try to keep busy both physically & mentally. Try making a shopping list in your head or name the 50 states. This will use another area of your brain & get the focus off the anxiety. Use the belly breathing. There's a good website http://learningmeditation.com/
