Nice to see you, Kimberly. It would be great if you joined our community. There's alot of tried & true info passed around by the generous & caring folks here. I don't know about your fear *specifically.* We all have fears *specific* to us. Driving is one of mine & comes up regularly in posts. Needle fears, taking meds,
I remember you Kimberly! and it's nice to have you back with us.

Hi Kimberly,
Its nice to meet you, unfortunately under these circumstances.
I am Heather (26) I have only come into the wonderful word of anxiety a few months ago. I could not have gotten through the past few months without these ladies. They truly are a blessing.
I just had my bloodwork all redone yesterday, I had my thyroid and other things checked and some things came out high. I am anxious to get the results back.
Does your Dr want to talk about meds of therapy? I would hate for this to progress into something more for you. I think that all of us here agree that we don't like taking meds but we sort of look at it in the same way as you take medicine for diabetes or meds for heart disease.
Hi Kimberly, I found your post very interesting & can't help but wonder why credit cards? Did anyone every hound you about using them before? or overusing them? I know I'm deathly afraid to go into one particular building, even with a friend. But I had something happen to me there, so I know that's the reason behind it. I think I'll always fear the building, even though it wasn't responsible for what happened there, make sense? I'm starting to find alot of reasons for my phobias when I think back over my life. I practically lived in my car, was never home & just drove around all the time! I can't tell you how many times my mother would put me down for driving all the time. I could never sit home and relax. When I met dh, my car broke down and we were looking for a new one for me. I can't tell you how many times my mom told him not to get me a car or it would be the cause of our breakup. She was convinced that my driving around broke up my 1st 2 marriages & that if I "stayed home like a normal person" I'd still be married. Anyways, I haven't driven in 6 years. Now that I've remembered all this, I wonder if it isn't buried into my brain somewhere. I'm trying to rationalize on paper why those conversations took place and move beyond it. I see driving as being in the near future, although I will struggle at first, I am sure. Anyways, welcome to the community and I hope you can overcome this phobia - I hope I never have a fear of credit cards - I don't think I could live without them!

thanks for the welcome, and the information.
to answer your question, i don't avoid certain places. i try to stay calm/relaxed, but it doesn't work - i get shaky. i've accepted it, but wish i could sign things normally. i feel bad/weird about myself some times, and have even cried over.
i will check out the folders you told me about.
again, thanks for the welcome.

hello
thanks for the welcome.
yes, i did post about problems signing for a package - good memory!
since i found out for a fact that what i have is anxiety, i figured i should post here again.
when i sign, it doesn't look like my signature at all. its scribbled and fast written. but like i mentioned, its not only when using the card - its when i have to sign for anything. i just sign as best as i can, but it does make me feel bad /weird knowing that i cant sign normally at times.
at least though, i know i'm not alone. my doctor said this is more common than one would think it is.

hi, and nice to meet you.
i don't know what the next step would be, if anything. the doctor just mentioned the blood tests and to wait for the results. i would like to have this stop, or at least controlled. so i'll probably ask him what can be done.

Sorry I misunderstood - I feel like a goof! I, too, do not like crowds - they make me feel nervous, almost trapped. I'm glad you have a new MD.
