My husband is my rock - I don't know what I'd do without him. Today he came home from work & was more quiet than usual (if that's possible, lol) so I went inside & watch tv for awhile. Later he came in and asked me to sit down because he had to talk about something serious - of course I'm thinking all kinds of irrational thoughts by this time. He said while at work yesterday he lost control of his eye movements - they just started darting up & down and he said it hurt and was painful and he felt like he was going to "drop". He said he kept working, but he is really worried. I was so nervous about it I couldn't sleep last night. I couldn't go to chat because I just wanted to lay in bed with him. Has anyone else heard of this happening? Of course the anxious side of me thinks brain tumor! but the logical side keeps saying he does construction outside in 100 degree weather and doesn't eat right. We don't have an MD since our move - I'm going to try to make an appt for a physical before my insurance runs out in August.

Oh {{{Sheri Ann}}} I can only imagine how worried you are. I'm sure you're right about him not eating right and being out in the heat like that not being of any help. Does he keep himself well hydrated with water? I'm not sure what would cause something like that. My son has a

We're here for you, Sheri Ann. I know this must be an awful concern. TBH, I would probably take him to the ER right away. It sounds like *possible* seizure activity to me. It could be caused by any number of things & they would be treatable. What makes me think this is that the eye movements were a loss of control & caused pain & the *dropping feeling.* They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I wouldn't want it to happen again & cause injury. KWIM? Just your meddling anxious old lady cl talking. Saying a prayer for you & dh.(((hugs))) jan

We live by absolutely nothing & it's so frustrating. I called the ONLY MD office & they made an appt for the last week in August. I'm going to try to get him to go to the ED, but I don't think he'll go due to insurance. I wish he wasn't a construction worker - I'm afraid he'll fall off a ladder! I did talk with my dd, who I tried calling most of the night. She had this happen when she had seizures after taking compazine for nausea. She told me the same thing happened during this last pregnancy & her MD told her it was because she was so exhausted. She said she rested for 2 days & it never happened again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I did make the appt for August, just in case I can't get him to go to the ED.

Hi Sheri Ann, So sorry about your dh. I have to say, I am ITA with Jan. I think you should get him into someone right away, so they can evaluate him. For a man to complain, I think that says alot because most men won't go to the dr.(mine is one of those).
Was he feeling better this morning? Please let us know how he is doing.

I can't imagine how scary that must've been for your DH--and for you! I do hope you can get him in to see someone soon. I hope your mind is put at ease by a trip to the doctor to find out exactly what this is. We're all thinking of you and your DH.

In the meantime, definitely make sure he's hydrated. I like to keep ice-cold bottles of the Nestle water (yes, there is a difference!) handy, and I refill them with filtered water or just grab a new bottle. That heat can really creep up on you!

Please keep us posted on your DH. ]]]

No, his appointment isn't until the last week in August, can you believe that! There's not alot to be said for living here when you need medical care. It's been a problem for both of us. In CT there were so many MDs, here there's one office with over 20 MD's. It's like a monopoly. Your first visit has to be a complete physical, they won't see you for sick or emergency visits until then. He's been to this doc before, but 5 years ago, so they're considering him a new patient, doesn't matter we moved away! He won't go to the er because my insurance won't cover it.
