hi- especially Heather- the dr said i needed to stop taking the lexapro because of the bad side effects- especially the uncontrollable movements of my legs- which he saw at in his office- as well as the other things like shaking and being jittery. this only happens in one in like 10,000 people or something and it is me of course. i will start taking the paxil again. hope all is well.

That's a shame, Elaine): Please don't allow this to color your opinion of taking meds. Side effects do happen & noone can be sure what will happen to any of us. Lexapro has been a good choice for many on our board. Good luck with the paxil. It was very effective for my panic attacks. jan

Elaine, im glad you went to the doctor and got this figured out. You should be feeling better in no time I hope. ITA with Jan that you shouldn't let this cloud your feelings towards taking medication to help control your anxiety.
keep us posted on your progress.

Elaine,

What did your Dr say was causing it? Did you just come off of it or do you have to do it slowly?

I'm happy for you to have some answers. Soon you will feel better!

I hope the paxil works for you. I have tried just about every med out there and different ones have worked in different times of my life. This is a difficult time but it is important to try the different medications and give them time to see if they work (if they aren't causing side effects).

Good Luck

thanks to all the posters- the dtr said it was just a side effect that very, very few people have. it was really bad on sunday night so i did not take my meds on monday and he just told me not to take anymore. it got progressively worse as the two weeks went on- but i thought it might go away- i learned a thing or two about calling the dtr about side effects quicker- and starting thursday will go on paxil again- which made me tired before but we are gong to try a lower dose- still have the involuntary movements but are getting better and still using the klonopin in small amounts. thanks, elaine
