I am feeling really anxious these last couple of days, and I dont know what to do. I haven't had a full blown panic attack yet, but I can almost feel it creeping up on me. my breathing problems are back, which I know are a result of anxiety. On top of that my boyfriend is having a lot of health issues all of a sudden...nothing too serious, but he is taking two different medications. I'm a little concerned because I know we'll be doing a lot of drinking this weekend, because we'll be hanging out with his old buddies. Im worried about him, because he refuses not to drink even though it's not a good idea while taking medications...I just hope he doesn't hurt himself. anyway, Im going to DC in a couple of hours, so I won't get to read your replies in time im sure...i guess i just had to let some steam out. I am really worried I'll have a panic attack on the bus ride to DC...it's 5 hours with no escape, ya know?

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I hope this reaches you, Mia. I was just ready to shut down & having pc troubles, am never sure when I can get back online. Here goes! I had a PA on a bus once. My gf was trying to soothe me which just makes things worse, as I cannot stand any sort of stimulation. So, I looked out the bus window & focused on a point & just kept my eyes steady. I did my belly breathing & thought positively. It was sort of a self-hypnosis type of thing & it did work. I was pretty weak & tired afterwards & the fellow bus passengers(it was a tour, BTW) thought I'd had a few too many the night before. Whatever! I was fine & you'll be, too. T&P's are going with you. (((hugs))) jan

hey Mia,

I am sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. We all seem to go through these times.

I just read that you said that you and your bf will be doing a lot of drinking this weekend.. i have been told that the 3 things to avoid while having anxiety is nicotine/caffeine/alcohol. I

thank you for your speedy responses! I will keep your ideas in mind, deep breathing does work wonders. Jan, im just like you in the fact that i hate it when people touch me when im having a panic attack...i think my boyfriend knows that by now though. I have my ipod packed with all my favorite songs on it and my klonopin is in reach, so in case i need it, i gues i'll have to turn to drugs even though i dont like that idea.

thanks again !

Can you do some deep breathing on the bus ride? I understand your concern for your boyfriend. I hope you'll be eating in addition to drinking, but please be careful.

You've probably already left by now, but I hope you have brought a good book or some fun tunes, and think of the positive. Enjoy yourself. It's a beautiful day. Oh, and stay cool and hydrated!

Thinking of ya,
Kendra
