Hi all,

I am sorry that I haven't been around so much.

I have been taking the boys to the pool everyday and then last night I hosted the wed. night get together with the girls from church. Things got pretty intense... many of us end up crying. It is so refreshing to be in such a "safe" group of women.

anyway, I have been having so dreams that I don't like.. last night I dreampt that I went back to waitressing and as I got there I started to feel the unreal feeling and I ended up having a panic attack and going crazy. I hate those kinds of dreams because when I wake up I am already on edge for the day. Its just awful waking up that way.

Does anyone else get there dreams???

Heather My dreams are pretty bad! sometimes-
I had hoped that hypnosis would help- NOT!!
The most recent dreams are about my former job
also! I keep getting lost and my class is waiting
for me I cannot find them---- interesting hey??
Kind of like I am thinking of how I miss my job and kids!
Usually there is a reason for the dreams I say USUALLY!
Your dream is about your fear of going "crazy"
Heather reassure yourself YOU ARE NOT GOING CRAZY!!
ANXIETY cannot make you crazy! It is a bad bad feeling
that is all! When you have these dreams close your eyes
and breathe relaxing and talk to yourself!! Tell yourself
you are doing great--- You will NOT let anxiety overcome
your strength! Talk back to yourself !!
It takes me about 20 minutes atleast to come out of these
bad dreams! Sometimes I refer back to them during the day
and have to say NO I will not think of it!!
It seems we cannot even get REST IN OUR SLEEP!!
THAT IS VERY ANNOYING!!
I hope this helps you some!! HUGS!!, Judy

Hi Heather. I have dreams that bother me too and I know what you mean about that feeling it gives you to start your day with. I have dreams that I have attacks and dreams where I am at school (I am 29 so that was a long time ago that I was in grade school) and I cannot get to my classes on time, cannot get a locker opened, all kinds of stupid things. I also have bad dreams about the world ending and all kinds of things. Normally, these things would not bother me, but since I have anxiety issues, they cause me to ruminate a lot. I have a big fear of cancer for some reason and I even dreamed about that the other night but the person in the dream was not me. Good thing for that, but it still made me worry because then I start trying to read into why I dreamed that and before long I was convinced that I must have cancer and that is why I dreamed that. It is just terrible.

I have dreams like that too. I can't remember many of them but the school thing makes me remember that I sometimes have one where I forget my locker combination. Another is that I am driving and my brakes don't work (scarier than the locker one).

The scariest are the ones when people I know are dead. I don't even like to talk about those. I feel like I will jinx someone.

Heather,

I often have dreams about my deepest fears. Not that any of them ever come true!!! You are just worried about your anxiety. We all fret at times. This is perfectly normal. Yours just happen to come out in dreams. I have woken up in a cold sweat more than once until I remind myself WHY I had the dream. Maybe writing the dreams in a journal might help. IT might also help to repeat to yourself "These are only my fears, not my reality."

Extra Hugs.

I think I can relate, Heather. I have frightening dreams & I know they're NOT real. However they nag @ me all day & that makes me anxious. Usually after a few days, my dreams begin to lighten up. Research says that we work through our day to day problems through our dreams. I hope that's true. Because that's what I reassure myself with. Good luck & GBU! Keeping busy is the best defense. (((hugs))) jan

A few 'tools' that I think are neat for interpreting my own dreams, especially if you use a journal (keep it right by your bed, with a pen!):

Heather, I'm sorry to hear about the dreams. That must be frightening! I have to say I don't dream unless I take a xanax. I do think alot, however, instead of sleep when I'm laying in bed. By the time I fall asleep I'm so exhausted that I just sleep! I've never had many dream. I guess that's a good thing! It sounds scary!

Heather dreams can be very disturbing that's one of my biggest problems, and they do tend to start your day out on the wrong foot. I catch myself prolonging sleep for fear of again having one of those dreams. Sometimes I just wake up with that disturbed feeling and other times I wake myself up either crying or screaming or fighting against the demons within. My heart goes out to you as I can definatly identify.
