This weekend, your CLs are a tad busy and asked if someone would keep an eye on the board. From what I have read, you are all so supportive of each other. Your CLs said that you would take care of each other...and they were right.

As an intro, I am Beth. I am a recovering alcoholic who used alcohol for a number of reasons, one was a fear of people, especially in large groups. Even when I got into recovery, I was unable to sit still even for 12 Step meetings, if they were large. Fortunately, in the part of the country I live in, there are small meetings!!

I still get anxiety attacks, especially in places where large groups of people gather. I cannot go to malls, for example (or even our local WalMart) during the Christmas shopping season (or the first of the month.)

Hi Beth,

Its nice of you to join us.

I LOVE your sig... my Dad was a recovering alcoholic and after many years he finally "got it' and worked the program. Unfortunately he passed away too soon for him to really enjoy his new life, he death was related to alcohol health problems.

When my anxiety started 3 months ago I found out that my father also had it.

Anyway, back to your sig... I say the serenity prayer every day and recently I found a coing with it on it and I put in on my Dad's grave. My Uncle also still gets my Dad's coin every year and puts it on his grave.

So, thanks for stopping by. We are a great group here and it would be nice if you'd join us...!!!

HI Heather

I recently came across another version of the Serenity Prayer by the same author. The differences are small, but, to me, significant.

God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things which should be changed and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.
