Hi, Kim! Nice to have you here. You are NOT alone. I have had panic attacks for 35 years & you described my feelings to a *t.* You will not lose it, go mad, insane or any of these very scary thoughts. Keeping yourself busy & filling your mind with activity does help. Having too much time to think is a problem. You're *right on* by identifying that.

Check out the *what's new on health & off topic* folders for lot's of info. I think belly breathing & positive thoughts help me the most. You can learn to cope better with other techniques. Join in our discussions & chats. Our members are very generous in sharing their experiences & letting newbies know what coping methods work. Seeing your dr. is a good idea. Everyone needs a good check up. If he advises going back on the meds, so be it. Many of us have been on meds & find no shame in getting help. Have you considered therapy? It can be helpful to talk your feelings out with someone who understands.

Post anytime, any length. That's what our board is for & iVillage provides lots of typing space:) Please bookmark us to your favorites. Consider our board your new home. We care & want you to feel better. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

that's funny that you say that about laying on your right side. that's when i find that the palpitations are at their least.

Isn't that strange! My heart skips beats when I do lay on my right side -- but never when I lay on my left side. Rolling onto my left side will stop it! HHMMM

Hi Kim,

I am new to the world of anxiety..

I know that the meds have made a great difference and that having the Dr's to rely on is a great help to me.

let us know if you decide to see your Dr. and take care.

I also know what you mean about being a good wife and mother, I always have a tough time with that. I feel as though I am a bad mother and wife and am not doing all that I should for the kiddos.
