I'm working on a project at work, and I keep feeling like I have no idea what is going on.

I am sorry to hear this, Noelle. I'm clueless about your work, but it seems that there's a communication breakdown, whether it's hearing related or something else. You're under alot of pressure & that can cause alot of anxiety. In that situation, our perception of what's happening can be altered. IMHO, you need to step back, take some deep breaths & a good look @ what's happening. Indentify *for sure* where the breakdown is occurring. Polling others may be necessary. When you have the data all collected, make a plan of action. Although it may be uncomfortable, approaching your boss may be in your future. Directness & honesty are the best ways to deal with confusion. I hope it works out. I also hope others will post their thoughts. I'm glad you had that weekend getaway. You sure deserved it! Sending P&PT's your way. (((hugs))) jan

Is it possible to tape the meetings or have an administrative person take minutes? I would talk to your boss and tell him/her that at the very least, someone should be making notes as to what you specifically should be doing. This is a reasonable accomodation for your hearing impairment and if he is not willing to do this I would make sure that he knows he may be violating your rights as an employee with a disability. Hope all works out without any conflict but remember that just because you are hearing impaired doesn't mean that you should not be given the correct information to do your job in a way that you can understand/hear.

Hope things go better for you soon. I don't have a hearing impairment and I still sometimes don't know what's going on or what's expected of me so I know how you feel to some extent.
